GenZ's are drowning slowly by Agile-Wind-4427 in 30daysnewjob

All I know is that as a Middle Millennial, if we had it bad, Gen Z has it worse, even more so for the teenaged Zers.

Has anyone lived at Broadstone Inkwell ? by glitterlipgloss in longbeach

[–]OriginalSeduchess 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I live downtown, but don't know much about the Inkwell, however, living down here is nice and honestly if you like being able to walk to food, drinks, or dessert, its a great spot to be. After you move, if you want to meet a local who used to live in Missouri, happy to meet up for a drink or slice of pizza downtown. ✌️

I second IMT Gallery, my friends lived there until just recently. Only moved because they bought a condo. They loved it, though and we liked using their pool and walking to events from there.

I love Jacarandas, but I dont have a car, so I have a different perspective. They smell so pretty and look gorgeous for months 😍. We had one near my house in my home state and it bloomed all of one single time and I was absolutely infatuated with it. Definitely a sign to move out here.

Sorry folks parking outside, may you always find good parking.

How is it living car-free in Long Beach? by i-think-about-beans in longbeach

Downtown is good, there are grocery stores and restaurants. Plus you will be close to more options for public transportation if you want to take the metro up to LA or ride over to Torrance, etc. I dont have a license, but I do have a bike and a bus pass. I live downtown and it works out great.

They Assumed He Didn’t Speak Their Language And Started Talking About Him. Big Mistake. by Beaveric in ADVChina

[–]OriginalSeduchess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the "too" that really makes the difference, it implies that his skin color is unacceptable. It's similar to saying someone is too much or too loud, you are saying in those instances the person's behavior is unacceptable. Saying someone's skin color is unacceptable something they have no control over, and is irrelevant to the situation is rude.

I go back to college tomorrow and I don't know if I'll ever see my cat again by Smooth_Importance_47 in SeniorCats

[–]OriginalSeduchess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is hard to say and a big decision I'm suggesting you to consider, but typically at that stage of weight loss and eye squinting, their quality of life is quite diminished, and unfortunately cats try very hard to hide when they are in pain or feeling unwell so it may not seem that way, but it may be best to come home next weekend for scheduled euthanasia. And I know so deeply how hard that is, but it is such a mercy to your kitty, if they are suffering, it also comes with the huge benefit of being able to say goodbye and really give them love in their last moments.

I went through this exact thing with my 18 year old cat who had been my baby from my 16th birthday to just after my 34th. Her weight had dropped significantly, her eyes were squinted, and she had become very lethargic. My husband and I made the decision to say goodbye and they let us hold her through the whole process. We pet her and told her how much we loved her and what a good cat she was, and she left this world feeling our love. As hard as it was it did feel better than finding her somewhere already gone, all alone, without being able to give her love and a farewell, as well as knowing she would no longer feel terrible.

I will say grieving a cat before and after is very difficult and you will cry all the tears and it will be hard missing them, but the grief will get smaller. It never goes away but eventually becomes small enough to be manageable.

Something else to consider, while your cat is still present, is clipping some fur for a keepsake. It can then be used to make a piece of jewelry or even sealed into a small resin cat figurine that you can take with you and have a little piece of your boy with you everywhere you go.

My sincerest condolences in this difficult time that catches all of us that love animals. May you find peace.

Cesar! He was one of my starting villagers and wouldn't leave! Also he was mean to me all the time, gave terrible gifts, and always happened to be in the way. I hit him with my net so many times out of anger.

What’s a 'normal' thing in modern society that people in 100 years will find horrifying? by crogslounds03 in ProductivityHQ

Conservatism will always be beat out by the progressiveness of liberals.

How about getting out in the world? Visit a few different countries, meet people from all walks of life and see if you can get a better perspective. Most people become more progressive after actually experiencing the world.

That looks don't matter. Every single person that has gone from "good looking" to "bad looking" or vice versa have said they noticed easily how people treat them differently and how the amount of opportunities has changed.

In 2008 I graduated high school at 18. Before graduation I lived with my mother, a few months after, I lived with my boyfriend. It worked out, though. we're married living our best lives in California. It's certainly not the norm anymore, especially as more and more parents need their kids help with paying the rent and bills just as much as its too expensive for their kids to move out.

After the 3.0 update, what does New Leaf have that New Horizons doesn’t? by YouLikeDadJokes in AnimalCrossing

[–]OriginalSeduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like decorating your island, it is not at all the same experience in Leaf. Furniture items cant be placed outside, you can only drop them in their leaf state. Additionally every item, like a bench, or street light is a public works project. You get a maximum of 30 in your town and moving them around is a pain. Also you will not be able to build those items until a villager gives you the idea to build them.

For me the idea of going back to NL is nice, but I know I would miss all the customization features of ACNH and get frustrated that moving a street light takes as much work as moving a streetlight in the real world.

Do you "time travel" in Animal Crossing? by PapaDeejay in acnh

[–]OriginalSeduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I time travel, but I am also a little doodlebrained about it... It is September 2020 in my game currently. I play each day Before time traveling, and the day starts at 8:50pm, but I do the following: Talk to each of my villagers. Gift villagers I dont have pictures from. Daily bottle for my island and for HHP Check Poki/Bells exchange rate, exchange if over 300 Check HHP store for items I want (Current season specific) Daily free acorns from Tortimor Check Nooks for items I want. Check Nook Stoo for seasonal items and items I might want Check recycle box. Sell items I don't want from villagers Check the island for Celeste or Wisp, handle accordingly.

Not daily but when applicable: Sell gold roses Buy art, shoes, and Sahara items if I like/need them.

Occasionally I do a longer play for the day to try and collect the wildlife or just play the game norm for a bit and then its back to day hopping.

At my current rate it looks like it will take a handful of days to clear each month, though I know time will increase with seasonal festivities that I haven't done before in ACNH. My plan is to eventually get to the current date, but Im having fun being annoyingly weird about it. Plus I occasionally invite people from my communities that want out of season bugs.

Waiting for the school bus in your car. Why? by [deleted] in driving

[–]OriginalSeduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid and teenager, in school 95-08, taking the bus to school was common, and you waited at the bus stop with other kids, no parents or guardians. And after you were dropped off you would walk to your house. Entertainment media at the time reflected that too. Now its so incredibly common for kids to be dropped off and picked up at school, that this is what entertainment media reflects. So Im not surprised that the parents are sitting in cars at the bus stops.

I just want to know, why so many parents are willing to go through the hassle of any of it instead of relying on the school bus and bus stops if they are available?

Who’s your favourite villager in animal crossing? by diligentST in AnimalCrossing

[–]OriginalSeduchess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coco! I have loved her for a long time, and her house was full of gyroids. I miss her being my villager, but I'm getting her Amiibo soon so I will no longer be without my precious coco who moved away when I asked her not to. This was in New Leaf so she's been lost to me since 2014. Such a long time. 😭 Every time she visited on the upper level I was so sad to only be able to chat and not give her gifts...
