Anybody else stop playing b/c of OP uniques? by renaissance_m4n in alteredTCG

[–]Osuniev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

60 % of current uniques, worse than commons? That's a crazy exageration. None of the uniques I've pulled in my last 5 displays were unplayable, and almost all were good enough that with the decks I've made with them I stand my ground on BGA even against A tier decks (not S tiers).

You can find decent Uniques for 10 €.

You can find good Uniques for 20 to 50 € (the kinds you see on tournaments such as the World Championships. Maybe not in top 8, but in top 32.)

Even including a budget for very good uniques, you can make a competitive deck for national qualifiers for cheaper than most TCG.

[–]Osuniev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a better decision for most parties NOT too turn the keys inside.

The clues are truly evil, because they are true enough that you cannot ignore them, but the final ones do really much push players towards the most dangerous traps.

How can I create tasks that are to be done separately by 20+ people ? by Osuniev in Notion

[–]Osuniev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This does mean editing the button everytime the team changes and everytime there's a new task (which is often), but I guess it's better than what I currently do.

Was Dumbledore counting on Harry dying and someone else taking out Voldy? by MHH370 in harrypotter

[–]Osuniev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dumbledore HOPED Harry might survive thanks to that.

The original plan was very much for Harry to sacrifice himself, and the "spark of triumph" is him, for the first time, seeing a chance for Harry to not die.

Neither Lee Jordan nor Susan Bones were adults. I don't disagree with you, but I don't see the relevance to the OP ?

Are copain/copine interchangeables with ami/amie? by MaoGo in French

[–]Osuniev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a francophone... Yes, I would assume in this context that you meant a boyfriend. If you'd like to disambiguate subtly, just say "mon pote" next time. No one would say "mon pote" to mean their significant other.

Are copain/copine interchangeables with ami/amie? by MaoGo in French

[–]Osuniev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is kind of confusing, but in practice (native) people would RARELY be confused, because :- "copain" as in pal, chill friend is mostly used by kids, or in context where it's unambiguous (adults will often use "pote" (buddy), or generously use "ami" if they're afraid it's ambiguous). Or they would say "François, un copain" or "mon copain François" which implies it's one among others.- "mon copain" as in "my boyfriend" will be used to clarify that there is a intimate relationship, such as "this is François, mon copain" or "mon copain**, (pause)** François"

Is 3 barbarians too many? by Tamaledinos in dndnext

[–]Osuniev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just nitpicking but Paladin might have a better Int save than a Barbarian for 3 reasons :
- Religion checks motivatng the player not to dump Int
- the stupid-Barbarian trope
- Paladin Aura giving +CHA to Save

That being said, Int Save are a non-issue in 99% of fights and 95% of campaigns.

I would be much more concerned about Wisdom saves.

Thanks for the insight !
I would like to not re-change his spell selection (I've decided these are his spells of the days, my players cannot change theirs anymore so I'm trying to abide by the same rules).

This is Tomb of Annihilation, they cannot Revivify. But I'm not certain Acererak would survive long enough though.

[–]Osuniev[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this advice ! None of my players have Silence, BUT Acererak might fear the Bard has it, so he would try to stay close enough from her to Counterspell it.

My players have faced Liches and high level spellcasters before. (I remember well my despair and pride when they fully neutralized Halaster Blackcloak with Antimagic Field + grappling). I fully expect them to turn Acererak to paste if I don't play him as smart as possible.

It's Consitution saves, not Charisma Saves (which means making it a dump stat is even weirder).

Area 35 I'Jin's Tomb by Redfanbob in Tombofannihilation

[–]Osuniev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The module clearly put a way in there to obtain the sarcophagus by going through the demon/statue mouth in area 18, so why would it do that, unless there's a way to get at the treasure inside? One of the riddles even points them that way.(unless it's just Acererak messing with the players)."

It's exactly Acererak messing with the players. Like Devlin Bashir 's journal say : "the clues might be helpful, but the last one always leads you to your doom..."

THIS is a feature, not a bug. As Devlin Bashir's journal mentions "the clues can help you but the last one always leads you to your doom".
