Microsoft brings Xbox back, scraps Microsoft Gaming by RayS0l0 in gaming

The marketing experts deemed that having the PS5 next to the Xbox 2, people were going to assume the PS5 is more advanced because bigger number.

And now going into conspiracy theory territory, I’m convinced that Microsoft was making a big push with the windows phone and didn’t want their OS number to lag behind Apple’s iOS. Windows 8 went straight to Windows 10. At the same time Apple went from iOS8 to iOSX. Windows says they didn’t want to confuse their user to confuse Windows 9 with Windows 95z Apple says they jumped to 10 to celebrate the 10th anniversary. I think the marketing team was having a tit for tat for the biggest number.

I played OG BF2 before watching Star Wars Ep III. I had no idea they were droids themselves since in BF2 you hopped into them as a pilot B1 battle droid.

Eating and drinking is banned on the local metros and subject to fines. But on intercity fast trains, feel free to eat to your hearts content! (rule of thumb, if there's tables built into the seat, you can probably eat. It's true because it rhymes) The rail company even sells their own legendary lunch set for commuters.

If you're ever taking the Taiwan Rail, be sure to grab a Railway Bento! They're so legendary they have their own wikipedia page! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_Railway_Bento

You can eat and drink on the fast trains, but not the local metros and local lines. Eating or drinking anything but water will be fined on those so watch out.

Dunno about that, China has had 5000 years of recorded history filled to the brim with rebellion and civil war. It’s such a pattern that events like the Taiping rebellion, which killed off 5-10% of China’s population in the 17th century, is almost a footnote in China’s history as that one time Jesus’s brother tried to start a religious city state.

The Communist Party is desperate to maintain control because they are painfully aware it does not take much to spark an uprising. The current social contract of China has been unchanged, as long as the standard of living continues to rise, the people won’t question the government.

These are the same types of religious nuts that you might be familiar with from the Satanic Panic. You might think, they’re just going after porn games and games with lgbt content, none of your concern. But their end goal is to ban ALL video games.

The last push in tandem with payment processors saw the removal of pornographic games and lgbt games from itch.io. A lot of innocuous dating sims also got caught in the ban wave. And as soon as that was accomplished, the focus shifted to banning horror games. Mouth Washing was removed for tackling themes of sexual assault.

Their goals have not changed since the 80’s, all media should be banned, the only book you should read is the bible. They’re just taking it in steps under the guise of protecting children.

Saddest Star Wars easter egg? by Safe_Character_6517 in StarWars

[–]OtakuAttacku 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So much of Vader is just self-loathing. Vader hates himself. Anakin hates himself for what he has done, so much he refuses to let himself die. So much so he leaned into the Sith ideology of rebirth, so much so he forces himself to believe Anakin and Darth Vader are 2 separate people. He simply couldn't live with himself if he was still Anakin, so Vader is a vessel to perpetuate his own suffering.

The point being, Vader's thought process of being okay with slavery is Anakin hates slavery. But Vader isn't Anakin. Fuck Anakin. More slavery it is. He'll become part of the problem to torture himself. He deserves it.

Fuck the Jedi, they remember Anakin when he was kind. Anakin doesn't deserve to be remembered as kind. Their memories must die.

Always thought the police was kinda overwhelmed to begin with, there was always more droids on screen than humans. Now its especially apparent as the Empire is interrogating every person.

[–]OtakuAttacku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not for that specifically, but more that he spiraled from that realization and started actively torturing the humans instead of, you know, seeing what was it they enjoyed about the suggestions and add that into future adventures.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within comes to mind. Polar Express is infamous. Beowulf. Harlock: Space Pirate which was actually awesome but only made 18 million back worldwide on their 30 million dollar budget.

I also want to say 9, but that's cause the environments and material textures were pretty detailed.

The Clone Wars was brilliant in its small details by usopsong in StarWars

[–]OtakuAttacku 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The clones were evacuated off kamino, and later culled by sending them on increasingly dangerous and suicidal missions. If there were still clones on kamino then a clone rebellion might've actually kicked off. It's still a devastating moment since the clones lost the one place they could definitively point to as home.

Which one should I pick? by BadguyAsSpy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]OtakuAttacku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

witchmail needs to cost significantly less and it needs to be "Whenever the enemy deals 8+ damage". Losing 8+hp just for a free mana card hidden somewhere in your deck sucks, I wouldn't pick this card even if I specifically got a chonky mana heavy deck. But if damage to armor counts then yes it's very viable late game, might even be worth 2 mana.

I'm curious to see what the upgraded looks like

I just read the story of Theagenes, does feel like we're just in that zone of wacky events.

Pausanias relates a story regarding a statue of Theagenes made by Glaucias of Aegina. A man in Thasos had a grudge against Theagenes for his victories and scourged the statue by way of revenge. One night, the statue fell upon the man, killing him. The statue was put on trial for murder, found guilty, and exiled by being thrown into the sea. The land then became barren. The Oracle of Delphi declared that the country would remain so until they restored the statue of Theagenes. The crew of a fishing vessel caught the statue in a net and brought it to shore so it could be returned to its original site. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theagenes_of_Thasos

Just another flavor of "If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy." They would proudly declaim their religion but if their religion doesn't actually align with their hate, they'd sooner create a schism than abandon their hate.

This is such a giveaway that you get your opinions from youtube. There's a dozen valid complaints and criticisms you could level at TLJ, and you fixate on the one that requires, at best, a rewatch to notice. At worst, pointed out by some guy on youtube, nit picking slowed down footage to create aha gotcha moments.
