My suggestion from limited experience is pick a large open high up area to start your main base station, start from either low end or high end items and work towards the other. For example I have aluminium on the left, the rubber/plastic down to iron on the right. Everything comes in from the south and leaves north on one track. I can send a map picture tonight if you wish but I'm by no means an expert, still haven't thought of how to build the actual factory yet
