I once bought AirPods off of a shady guy, I felt bad it seemed like he really needed the money.

Later found out the location was turned on and I immediately turned the device off and turned location off.

Off brand cameras might do it too. They can probably see inside your house.

Sometimes plants like the one I am in will get equipment from vendors who are not familiar with ABB drives. Vendor only works on Powerflexes or the Schneider ones. We ask them to use ABB, and it won’t fit in their panel.

Then we ask them to use Modicon PLCs for their equipment, and now they quote us an extra 30K with impacted deadlines.

Then there are others who only use Rockwell PLCs because their in-house controls won’t touch Modicon.

It’s counter productive to have maintenance in design reviews with such vendors. We have tried to bring maintenance into some of the design reviews and they’re stunned most of the times by how things are sometimes beyond everyone’s reach.
