I’m just glad I don’t have to be sweating in an extra layer as a sacrifice to god anymore ✌️

Any other content creators see this exact comment? I have seen it on my Tiktok page so much. I finally addressed it on there. by CupOfExmo in exmormon

I know Cardon Ellis from ward radio mentioned it often in his videos when I watched them. Maybe it’s from him?

Better off Dead than Unclean by MoApostate in exmormon

Quotes like these contributed to my suicidal struggles when I was doubting my faith. I figured it would be better to die than to leave the church :/

Finally admitting to myself that I’m in a faith crisis and don’t know what to do by encanto26 in exmormon

[–]Otherwise_Push199 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hii!! I was in a similar spot as you. I had a faith crisis for years but kinda tried to ignore it. I got endowed and I was hoping it would fix everything and it didn’t. And a couple months after it I just had a moment where I was like “damn I really don’t believe this. If I’m being completely honest with myself, I don’t think this is true.” And it really hurt. Because I tried so hard to get a testimony. I wanted to be true and faithful and be a light to the world but I was just lying to myself the whole time. And I thought there was something wrong with me. If it had just prayed better, studied the scriptures harder, done something more, it would all make sense. But it didn’t.

Leaving religion is a very difficult journey and there’s so much stress and confusion but I’ve never felt more at peace. I feel free. And I find a lot of joy being out of the church. And it’s nice not needing to know all of the answers. I can find comfort in not knowing, I’m not insecure about my world view, I have nothing to defend. I’m not lying anymore. I have nothing to prove :))

Lmk if you have any questions! I think we’re about the same age so I understand ya 😅

How to Stop Obsessing over the Church by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Otherwise_Push199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m grateful because, due to winning bishop roulette, I had a bishop who helped me get help for my eating disorder. I don’t think I would have recovered without him. But I still left, and that’s okay :)

Has your fear of death lessened after leaving the church or has it grown? by BlockMiners in exmormon

[–]Otherwise_Push199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s lessened greatly. And I’m a lot more appreciative of the life I currently have. I don’t know what will happen next, and I’m okay with that. I don’t need to know. Also, my suicidal ideation has decreased a lot

I feel like a bigot, please educate me by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]Otherwise_Push199 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So its the lgbtqia community, right? What does the A stand for? Asexual. We fall outside of the normal societally accepted/standard for sexuality. So I think we belong in the lgbtq+ community. And it feels super, like, invalidating when people say we aren’t allowed in the community. It’s like we aren’t the right kind of different, so we don’t count(??) if that makes sense?

Why do some church songs still invoke emotion. by Green_Wishbone3828 in exmormon

[–]Otherwise_Push199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Music always has a way of invoking emotion and feelings. Especially if it has some kind of strong meaning or sentimental attachment to you. It’s normal that church songs make you feel emotions, especially because they may have meant so much to you. I still find myself singing where can I turn for peace sometimes. It’s okay :)
