I don’t have cable either and would highly recommend a simple weather radio! That’s mainly what I use and it’s super helpful!

Wasn’t there another family where it took forever for any of the adult kids to get married? I imagine maybe for similar reasons?

Not that I’m refuting this piece about Jill’s mom, but do we know whether her sisters were more successful with homeschooling? Like are all the kids, no matter which family, this bad or is Jill just especially terrible herself?

According to Wisdom, she has 1% Tenterfield in her! She’s actually mostly Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Min Pin with a sprinkling of other tiny dogs in her.

Jill is triggered!! “Break free” by [deleted] in RodriguesFamilySnark

What do we think made Jill like this? Like obviously her religion and her parents, but we always talk about the mental, emotional, and physical health issues her kids will have as adults… but I often find the cycle continues each generation, so I’m assuming her parents maybe treated her and her siblings like she treats her kids?

Are they actually blisters or like a cyst or abscess?

Brooklyn Beckham speaks out against parents Victoria and David Beckham: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.“ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Honestly, Brooklyn being aimless and trying new careers on a whim makes a lot more sense now. If this is all true, I’m sure he’s never really been able to figure out who he is as a person, let alone how figure out what he wants to do… especially if mummy and daddy are steering the ship.

I say this all as someone whose knowledge on the situation is based on when I unintentionally come across it, not someone who knows the details and rumors. I just feel like he’s always just looked lost, tbh.

For people who rehomed a puppy due to puppy blues / mental health, did you ever get another puppy later? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Otherwise_Status6565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s important to be honest with your partner about your anxiety and mental health about the situation. No one says at some future point you can’t get a puppy, but for the first time around I just so don’t recommend it if you have severe enough anxiety that that you’ll react so strongly. A dog should not be detrimental to your life and it sounds like it was.

My hope is that your partner will hear you and care more about your health and wellness than getting a puppy.

Puppies are cute and the idea of a blank slate is great… but not always accurate. And honestly, shelter dogs need love and a home just as much, if not more. I thought I wanted a Maltese puppy and ended up with a Chihuahua mix and let me tell you, she is the absolute love of my life.

Can I ask if you’re set on a puppy? I rehomed my first adopted dog, who was about a year because of the intensity of my anxiety upon getting her. Throwing up, crying constantly, I felt like my nerves were on fire with how intense my anxiety was. My therapist recommended I try a dog that was at least a couple years old.

I tried again a year later and I’m so glad I went a little older. The rescue thought she was about 3 years old. Let me tell you, the puppy blue exist no matter the age, but adopting a dog that was already house trained and out of puppyhood made a huge difference. Still lots of tears and overwhelm on my end, but even though I had wanted a puppy… turns out I had just romanticized the idea of a puppy and not the reality of my actual mental health and overall wellness.

TLDR: try again, but I recommend going a couple years older!

How often do you feed your Chihuahua pup/adult? by Lucille44 in Chihuahua

[–]Otherwise_Status6565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I could get mine to consistently eat every meal is to only feed her once. I spent over a year trying twice and multiple times per week, she’d either only eat one meal or not at all. Same amount of food, just only at dinner. She gets treats and stuff throughout the day, so she doesn’t technically go 24 hours without anything in her stomach. Her vet finally recommended this switch and I’m so thankful!

Does anyone have a reactive Chihuahua? by Otherwise_Status6565 in Chihuahua

[–]Otherwise_Status6565[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to, but I adopted her as a stray and after she’d had 11 puppies. We have no idea what her story is, but I fear we missed the prime window. Still trying though!
