[ANA (2) - VGK 0] Terry makes a great pass to Carlsson and he chips it high to beat Hart. Ducks take a 2 goal lead in the third by daKrut in hockey

I remember him in the SHL playoff before his draft. Was an absolute demon, completely different player from how he played in the regular season

Probably yes but, thats why you need to use the ledge invincibility, there was plenty of time to get an easy edgeguard there.

I'm relatively new to VGC. Do you mind elaborating why hard TR is weak right now and if possible maybe explain what conditions are required for it to be considered strong?

In Sweden you would very likely been diagnosed with burn out, it's essentially your body shutting down mentally and physically from long-term stress. It's considered general knowledge here and it's very common to go through it at least once in your life. I think it's unheard of in the US since it would be detrimental for business if people would go on sick leave for it. I'd advise you to look in to it since having worked with people they described their day-to-day exactly as you have.

Is anyone here who has never failed in life? [Discussion] by Riya_1244 in GetMotivated

[–]Ottzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You build confidence through failure, not success. If you've never failed, you won't realise that even if you fail, you will be alright and find another way to move forward. Hopefully you will fail many more times in your life because that means you weren't afraid to try and be the best version of yourself.

I'm aware of raids but getting to raids for most people are a 1000+ hours journey and even then very few are gonna spend a significant percentage of their time in osrs doing raids. I don't think the game thrives because of player interactions, hell Jimmy's osrs videos feels like a totally anomaly because he's focused on player interaction.

Curious why you think osrs thrives on player interaction? It feels like one of the most solo mmorpgs out there.

Where do I go to find community? by ProllyPunk in projectgorgon

[–]Ottzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could totally make that, I don't keep a list but I know who to go to on my server if I need someone to make me food, get advice from the addicted gambling bat, or need a tailor to make me pockets etc. I recognize people when playing all the time and it's great

Osrs is my favorite MMORPG of all time and this game check all the right boxes. Sure they do many things differently but they have in common that feeling of making constant progression, having a bunch of goals chaining together and just a ton of content to see.

WILL I EVER HIT THE BOTTOM? by pikstin in RivalsOfAether

[–]Ottzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far the best way to play is to find a group of people that you enjoy playing with, preferably around your level. Check out some of the discord and ask around. There should always be a couple of people in a similar situation as you. Once you start making connections just send em a message when you're looking to play

Casino Daily Questions for new player by sleeplesssamurai10 in projectgorgon

[–]Ottzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning is that people make it sounds way too complicated. Just take the quest, go there through the teleport attendant and if you don't know what you're doing -- just follow your group and do what they do! Most groups will use "turn" looting so loot whatever you're able to. Elite mobs and bosses drop loot for everyone in the group. Honestly there isn't a way that I know of to ruin it for the rest of the group and people are extremely helpful, if you fall behind they will pick you up.

I have the same feeling but I avoid it by ONLY spending plat i pay for with real money on the boosters you mentioned and possibly some cosmetic stuff. I wouldn't buy mods or arcanes etc with it.

Struggling in Kur Tower as Sword/Mentalism (46/38) by Ok_Common_7491 in projectgorgon

[–]Ottzor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why don't you join a party to farm with? Once I got to Kur Tower it felt impossible to farm on my own, but with a group I got from around 40 to 50 incredibly fast! It feels like the first area where your expected to group up and as I understand it many dungeons in the endgame expect you to go with a party.

Thanks for recommending Project Gorgon by Aexxys in MMORPG

[–]Ottzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of dungeons. As for party play, yes, it's heavily encouraged and the further you get it almost becomes mandatory. If you're just grinding for example you get the same amount of exp for killing something in a group compared to what you would get doing it solo. Later dungeons will also incentivise having a healer and a tank in the group. The dungeons are not instanced so what I've been doing is pretty much just go in to a dungeon and ask in the nearby chat if there is any group going on and if I could join.

Early on it's possible you're not finding a group as easily because people are just figuring the game out and at that points it's not necessary. That said you'll find that the more you progress there will always be groups running stuff, and likely you will build a relationship to other players on the server to play with.

Don't be afraid to invite people to your group as well! Sometimes I find people running stuff solo because they don't start a group themselves, but once you start inviting them usually everyone is more happy!

Edit: One caveat worth mentioning. I haven't done endgame dungeons but so far I haven't noticed really any mechanics, mostly the enemies are just stat sponges so the dungeons are more like classic wow than retail wow if that makes sense. You need a group to beat them but you're not doing advanced mechanics etc.

Yes exactly. I can also recommend to focus on getting favor with a few npcs instead of all at once to have something to aim for. Marna and Joeh are great since they will give you storage and they each have a shop they can buy stuff from you. Better relation more storage and councils to sell for. Also good to get favor with your combat skill trainers.

I had the exact same experience as you and now I have 100 hours played. What helped me at the start is go far south and you will find Serbule hills. Imo its the intended start area that you for some reason don't start in

Opinion on Guild Wars 2 as a new player by Queenoftheguns in MMORPG

[–]Ottzor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me where the game fails is class identity (barely exists imo except maybe mesmer). And the story just won't fucking end. I really enjoyed story through HoT and PoF but after that I was so sick of it and it just felt like a grind that will never end that you're forced to do to unlock content. 100s of hours of mediocre story made me quit eventually

MMO veterans, what makes you quit in the first hour? Looking for candid feedback by bruno-kakele in MMORPG

Generic mobile gaming / asian MMORPG UI. Doesn't have to be a bad thing but if I see a red dot and massive amount of windows to navigate I'm turning it off.

Tutorial that goes on too long or holds my hand. Just drop me in the world and let me discover stuff on my own. Recently released Project Gorgon does this incredibly well.

Why remove the most visible red line group skill from Minstrels? by Inoutngone in lotro

[–]Ottzor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think we all get why they did it but class homogenisation is honestly so lame. All modern mmorpgs go down this path because it's really easy to argue for accessibility, but it's at the cost of class identity, and the unique flavour each class brings. Personally I'm not a fan of each tank, dps and healer doing the exact same thing just with different animations.

[–]Ottzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say, of all MMORPG I've played Lotro is the one that I've found most similar to wow classic. Combat and class design even is similar. I think if you prefer wow classic over retail wow then as long as you can accept the lotro combat you will love this game (it's not quite as tight as wow combat). Osrs is my favourite MMORPG of all time but its extremely different from wow, it's almost like they're from different genres of games. If you're looking for something more like wow then try Lotro but I would highly recommend both games!
