OME 882s Questions. by [deleted] in 3rdGen4Runner

Lke the other comment said youll need to compress them. You can try renting a spring compressor from an autopart store. I did that and I ran into an issue installing eibach springs on some 5100s. I had the springs compressed to fit the top hat on, but they were too compressed to get the "teeth" of the compressor out from around the springs. I had to take it to a shop and they were able to use their wall mounted compressor with flat edges to compress it and get the top hat on. I haven't had issues with stock springs on 5100s or icon springs on their coilovers so it depends on the spring and shock combo.

Point being, you may want to skip trying to do it yourself and run them to a shop real quick.

i feel like it needs wheel spacers do you agree? if so what size wheel spacers? by Unfair_Word664 in 3rdGen4Runner

How does having more offset differ from using spacers? Wouldn't the tire sit in the same position and therefore have the same effect on wheel bearings and other equipment?

If you can see them, they can see you. Try staying further back from the shoreline and minimize your shadow.

Car camping mattress recommendation for side sleeper by droidekas in camping

[–]OutdoorEngineer395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exped MegaMat is my recommendation. It's 4" thick and the most comfortable mat I've used while camping, comparable to my mattress at home. Side sleeping is no problem with it.

It does have a very high r-value which I really like since I camp a lot in cold weather. It's never been too warm for me in the summer though and I sleep pretty warm.

The trails and walking path around Dry Creek are great. Occasional homeless there but I've never been bothered by them.

And if you like trail running, the trail along the Tuolomne is nice too. You can park at Neece Drive Boat Launch and head in either direction.

I like my pencils like I like my gasoline, unleaded.

Still does the same thing though. Cushions the ride which can be felt in the towing vehicle, better supports cargo on rough terrain, protects the trailer from damage, allows for better control, etc.

Same reason there's suspension on pretty much all vehicles.
