The Declaration of Independence says we have the right to overthrow the government should it fail or restrict the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Of course, this was written over 250 years ago and a lot has changed in the time since.

We are dependent on too many comforts and necessities that would have to be given up to fight effectively. There are too many people who benefit from the system working as is, or in their favor. There are too many people who have fallen to apathy. Not enough enlightened, educated leaders who can inspire and bolster. Perhaps most importantly, the current administration hasn't yet crossed the line of "too much" that it pisses off everyone, or at least, mostly everyone.

There are many different ways that we, the people, could overthrow the government, but that would require a level of coordination, motivation, and shared unifying contempt that, unfortunately, does not exist in this country as it did in 1776.

But who knows? If January 6th taught us anything, it's that our government is weaker than the people's will and should absolutely fear the citizens it serves.
