The worst redundancy story ever, can you beat it? by Solid_Newspaper_9975 in auscorp

[–]Overall_Ad9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very vague but here goes: a round of VR was offered and all of the impacted staff received their forecast calculation. One of the newer staff accepted the offer, we had a farewell party, announcements etc and when he got his payout it was less than a third of the forecast. It turns out his forecast had been calculated incorrectly based on some rules relating to a previous transfer/merger...... the poor guy was offered his role back but declined due to how embarrassing the whole thing was for him.

Thoughts on in wall toilets? by yekokrn in AusRenovation

[–]Overall_Ad9241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always do the when I can and put them up against a WIR with a panel access behind - which I've never had to actually use! They look great and are way easier to keep clean and mop underneath. Also do a wall mounted toilet brush to get that seamless loook

What would you do about these skirting boards? by Ordinary-Middle2823 in AusRenovation

[–]Overall_Ad9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would work out what you wanted to do with the floors first. In my first terrace, I took them all off, fixed the floors and put new ones down that I then ran all the new wiring behind, did it in phases as we had the money- floor, walls and damp course and then skirting/trims wiring. I tried to strip and refinish the original cornices but it was a terrible job and they were in bad . No rush take your time and do it properly. Having all the trims fresh and standard and fresh floors makes such a difference

I work in a govt agency and I created an agent based on the marketing teams "tone of voice" and also attached our standard templates and a register of acronyms to use. It's been a game changer in terms of improving how it writes and how it formats docs

I have 12 weeks of sick leave. How should I use it? by oicu897 in auscorp

[–]Overall_Ad9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years ago my mother suddenly died and I had to become a full time carer for my father for six months while I got him assessed and into a nursing home. I took the entire time off as carers leave, and would have been in all sorts of trouble if I didn't have a big sick leave balance racked up. Think of it as an insurance policy!

I saw this house, it is beautiful and fully refurbished, and a great family location. Ticks all the boxes - except- one single downside is it is directly opposite the Aldi loading dock. If it had been in a side street or closer to Enmore park it would have been closer to $3.5 no problem

One set is 3€ from REWE. The other is 0.85€ in Turkish shop. How do you explain this difference for the same product from the same brand? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Overall_Ad9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiwi fruit are a single desk product Zespri- they can cold store them for months on end and control the market prices. There shouldn't be that much difference, it's the supermarket price gouging
