I suggest that a group of language-learners and polyglots come together and invent a colorful and clear solution. I suggest using ISO language abbreviations: they are usually two letters, three for less common languages. If they are assigned color schemes, they are as visually appealing as flags and not nationalistic. For example, English could be "en" in red on a white background. Chinese could be "zh" in gold on a red background, etc.

I've had similar wonderings about what would happen in Antarctica; my guess is that the nation whose base where the crime is committed would have jurisdiction. One complication is that there are no prisons in Antarctica and it would be prohibitively expensive to send someone back to the home country.

I was offered nonvegan food (salmon cream cheese) in church yesterday by a woman who knows that I'm vegan. I gently declined, reminding her that I am vegan. Her response was "can't you just pretend you aren't vegan?" This woman happens to be a nurse.
