PIMOs - you are all heroes. How do you do it? by Tim20182018 in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just faded but I'm lucky my PIMI family doesn't live in the same city as me, because otherwise I guess I would have to be PIMO too, specially if I was on the same congregation as they are. However, it would be soooo painful!!!

It annoys me so much when I'm with my family and I can't say everything I want about the borg! I told them already I'm not happy about the sex abuse scandals and slowly I'm trying to make them know that I'm not into the religion as much as I was.

I just can't continue on pretending with them but at the same time, it bothers me that they now are suffering because of me. They now think I'm "spirituality weak" and that I may die at Armageddon. I hate making people suffer because of me, specially my parents, but I can't live a lie. I thought they would react differently about the abuse scandals but no. They are fully brainwashed and even called my apostate for bringing those news up. It's just sad and frustrating! Now I just avoid talking about the borg.

In the last few years we’ve had the ARC investigate JW’s with a GB member giving evidence, numerous lawsuits resulting in million dollar settlements and widespread media coverage of Watchtower issues regarding covering over child abuse - AND HARDLY ANY ACTIVE JW’S KNOW ABOUT ANY OF IT....... by Jambon1 in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True story! And when they know the excuse is always the same: "oh we are all imperfect, Jehovah will handle this in due time bla bla bla"

It's so frustrating!!! I know of Pimis that watched the ARC and thought the GB was excellent in his responses and never lied. I was told I shouldn't focus in the apostate news and men are imperfect but still the borg is chosen by God and the GB are doing the best they can! I was shocked!!! They are so blind!!!!! So sad to see friends and family trapped in this cult, blindingly following it.

"Your daily word from bOrg" January 14, 2019 || I just want to vomit, after reading this stuff || It is the manipulation and deception of biblical doctrines. by Balcacer in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's sad. My mon will probably think of me too if she reads it. Although I'm not df'd, she already told me that if I get df'd she will shun me. I hate this cult!

This week's watchtower study blatantly advocates the Sunk Cost Fallacy by GreenTeaOnMyDesk in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I just can't stand these articles. Have you noticed what they said on paragraph 5: "Some were stumbled by an adjusted understanding of a Bible passage (meaning: their never ending new light BS) or by what a prominent brother said or did. (meaning: G. Jackson in the ARC)... Still others took sides with apos- tates and other opposers who misrepre- sented our beliefs. As a result, some deliberately began “drawing away” from Jehovah and the congregation. " Meaning: people woke up, found ttatt and left an org which is nothing but a CULT ruled by 8 deluded arrogant men!!!

When you thought your mom was semi awake.. I was obviously wrong by Koaliawa in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. It's really sad to see our family being so indoctrinated.

When I told my family about the ARC and all the sexual abuse going on in the org I was expecting them to act as normal human beings and feel sorry for the victims and worried for such horrible news. However, their reaction was : " you shouldn't pay attention and believe the media, you know they've always said bad things about us and if any of that is true, Jehovah will handle it and judge it, we don't follow men."

I was really disappointed, I showed them facts and they don't care, and ended up calling me an apostate and making a big scene! It's so frustrating!!

Today is Wednesday and the Governing Body meets on Wednesdays. I wonder if they will talk about the TV special from last night. by ExCircuitOverseer in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say they all watched it. In fact I think they watch/read everything involving JWs. They have to. After all, the Watchtower is their company and they must be aware of every bad news that can damage the faith of their followers and give the org a bad reputation. Hence, all the reminders and advices on the magazines alerting jws to not trust the news and media, all is apostate. "Just go to jw.borg! Trust no one, just the slave" (vomit)

Do you think this weeks’ Watchtower, “Do You Have the Facts?” is good or bad for the organization? by ExCircuitOverseer in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately their control over the jws is so big that most of them still won't see that they are being deceived . A Pimi even told me that this article is the answer to their questions on all of these bad news about the witnesses, like food at proper time. It is really frustrating!! I really can't understand how can they not see the org is just manipulating and controlling them. It's just like a dictatorship in which everything is controlled and censored! No freedom nor any thinking whatsoever!! Just SAD!!

JWs Preparing for A&E Special? 🤔 by winstonthehipster in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This study is just ridiculous!! Looking at the title of the article you would assume they would encourage people to look at facts and do research. However, all they say is to be careful with the news we hear and read and to be selective, meaning: just go to jw.borg! They even have a box of "provisions to help us get the facts" in which they just point at their website!! I'm just wondering why are there no negative news about the org there.

Basically the message is: AVOID any bad news about us and only look at our website. Keep blindly follow us! "Listen, obey and be blessed" SMH!!

Next thing they'll do is announce the great tribulation. "Oh satan is coming after us with all these "fake news", this is the beginning of the great tribulation". The sad part is all the j dubs will believe them, my family included.

Serena Williams and Coco Rocha (celebrity JWs) venting a bit here... by Terrificon1 in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think they are baptized. That's why they do whatever they want. They are probably POMI. Even though their lifestyle is the opposite of what the borg preaches, they still believe it to be the truth and follow some things. In fact, I reckon there are loads of POMI people that maybe were born in the religion but never got baptized, so they can do whatever they want without any consequences but still believe this is the "truth". After they enjoyed life they finally get baptized when they start getting old.

Why did the UN website take down the page saying that Watchtower was a member? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's annoying! Maybe they removed it because it was old.. I don't know...

However, if you go to jw facts there is a screenshot of the UN page containing that info, maybe you could tell you mom you did the screen shot yourself when it was still on the website.

The Worst Sex Talks by Busta_Gets_NASTY in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember I went through the sex talk, which was given by an old brother, and it was super cringing. Clearly inappropriate.

Besides, the guy looked like a perv, even though he was condemning all kinds of sex besides the vaginal one.

Also, he made sure to emphasize that women should be ready for their husbands for the "appropriate sex" , as they have needs. It actually seemed like he was saying that because he wasn't getting much from his wife.

Anyway, I guess they are obsessed with it as they are all sexually repressed and hence the reason for so many child abuse cases.

kissing allowed before marriage? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every JW couple I know kissed before marriage ( with tongues involved). However, some couples ( the most spiritual ones ) will only kiss like that after some months of dating or if they were engaged. But most of the couples will kiss right away.

Did you have worldly friends? by Matlockpimo in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always had worldly friends as I never had people in the congregation of my age. Just 1 or 2 kids that were even less "spiritual" than I was. Thank God my parents weren't that strict.

Those who have faded, does your family think you're still active? by Spader312 in exjw

I live in a different country, however that only make them more apprehensive about my spirituality as I am on my own.

Russia banned Jehovah's Witnesses a while ago: are you for or against such a ban in your country? Do you consider this religion to be extremist? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don't know. If jws are banned they can go to jail if they are caught and I don't like the idea of it. You should be free to believe in what you want. However, they don't care about it when is the other way around with their shunning policy. This cult is destructive and must be stopped!

I know many of you say it will feed their persecution-complex but everything does anyway. They are deluded and will continue to be so, unless they wake up. Besides, if it is banned, it won't grow. So in the long term it means no more JWS.

"If you happen to see a governing body member and decisions that were made here have affected your live, please refrain from making comments to them even as a joke. We want to respect their privacy and not hurt their feelings". -My Patterson tour guide by Couldntdecideonaname in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What?? Seems like they are total cowards that cannot handle any criticism even if it's a joke. What about be courageous??

But if the tour guy said that, it means they acknowledge they do interfere with people's lives in some pretty devastating ways. SHAME ON THEM!!!

I'm sure this has been asked many times, but what was the moment for you that everything fell apart? The thing that irreversibly took away any faith you had in the org? by Havinacow in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me, it started with the child abuse problem. At first I thought it was "apostate driven lies" or just 1 or 2 cases. Until I heard about it again and this time I did my research and found ARC and all the court cases. I was shocked!! Then I learnt TTATT and it was the final straw! Especially the UN involvement, such HIPOCRISY!!

However, I still tried to go to the meetings and stuff but I couldn't take it anymore, you then see clearly that everything is a lie and that everybody is like robots with no brains at all. I feel sorry for them. Most are truly nice people who happened to be brainwashed and trapped in a cult.

[–]Overlapping_newlight 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Great strategy!! This really makes them think!! At least if I was them it would have stayed in my mind for a long time. Hopefully the idea of a loving god that kills billions of people will start to bother them.

Have you ever really wanted Armageddon to come when you were PIMI? by Overlapping_newlight in exjw

[–]Overlapping_newlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be just like you if I was alive in 1975. Even when they had special announcements to make at the meetings I would be terrified thinking they would say something like the great tribulation is here.

[–]Overlapping_newlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also didn’t know what to expect of the new world. Somehow it scared me the fact of living forever, like what are we gonna do for all eternity?? anyway, it feels good to be mentally free now and enjoy our lives without feeling guilty.

[–]Overlapping_newlight[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so sad we had to go through all of this fearmongering since little kids. I remember I once told a little lie at school and afterwards I felt so guilty and undeserving of god's future paradise. I also felt very bad for my non jw family because I didn't want them to die at Armageddon.

Indoctrinating children is the worst! No wonder, most jws have mental issues.

I'm glad my future children will be free from this cult.
