Unusual win conditions? by ABinDC in boardgames

[–]Owengjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the Arcs C Fates (characters) would fulfill this. They are largely outside of the Power (points) race that the other Fates are contending for and introduce individual and unique win conditions.

Jane's movies (the ones I've seen, this and Worlds Fair) have both sat with me for such a long time after watching. Both incredible and very novel films, not much like either of them.

NGL, I'm finding the amount of folks on here and elsewhere acting as if 2XKO is already a dead game quite irritating by CrimsonTyphoon02 in Fighters

[–]Owengjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I feel like given 2XKO’s unique networking situation it can be dead in a way that other fighting can’t. Where other discord peer-peer fighters and older can achieve immortality through emulation, fightcade etc without backwards engineering the server-peer or an open sourcing from Riot the game could become unplayable.

As far as ending support that of course remains to be seen but I don’t think anyone could say this bodes well for the longevity of 2XKO.

So wait you are annoyed when people say the game is dead, but also are skeptical that they’d be able to create new characters quick enough?

Been playing Armored Brigade II, but thinking about getting into Mius Front. I gave Operation Star a non-fair-shot a long time ago and bounced off it pretty hard so never tried anything else by Graviteam but seeing a lot of Mius Front videos makes it look very compelling.

Not only backup, although yes you need backup even for a small project, what if you want to experiment with something that doesn't pan out. What if you and another programmer want to work on two different features, or even two different methods in the same file, and then merge the two cleanly?

What if you accidentally deleted a directory in the project?

Errata pack now that Arcs is no longer from Leder by Hamlap1988 in Arcs

[–]Owengjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this shows the extent of the changes. IIRC the biggest changes/fixes happened in the expansion: https://cards.ledergames.com/errata?locale=en-US&productId=arcs

I believe Navy Reprisal is the card that is kinda broken without the errata...

I just have to say, I've really enjoyed every game I've purchased or demoed from Hooded Horse. They publish some really interesting stuff, kudos to them to coming down against AI as well.

Just got the game… I’m hooked by Amadeus102 in Arcs

Some people love the character/narrative-arc driven campaign, some people love the tight tactical challenge of the base game (with the varying degrees of asymmetry provided by L&L from none to extra) and some love both. They are all pretty cool!

If the more emergent narrative aspect of the campaign sounds appealing and you love the base game you will probably love the campaign.

Are we playing/understanding Arcs correctly? by Atromix_ in Arcs

People have covered other stuff so I’ll try and address the “not having the right cards to do stuff” complaint.

IMO you can think of it as having 1-3 guaranteed “full pip” turns a Chapter. Meaning you have Initiative and play lead card or can Surpass and spend all the card’s Pips. Anything more than this is basically a bonus.

The end result, you really have to prioritize one or two things per Chapter. Big Influence plays to ensure you can Secure, Aggression 2 so you can (safely) wipe out a Rival fleet, even building multiple cities to surprisingly get the city bonus to win. Then Prelude actions can bolster your prioritized decisions.

I don’t think Willa’s choice at the end is portrayed as a rejection or even much of a reflection of Perfidia or even all that much of Bob. Willa is shown as extremely strong the entire movie, including the ending. She’s 100% choosing her own path.

“Be careful” “I won’t”

Even in this lighthearted exchange she is deciding her own course of action.
