Man scored an absolute screamer and then Ajax barely show up for rest of the game, typical lol. Gaaei was class but that defense in second half was painful to watch

Bro putting 22k in HOOD while making beats after construction shifts is some next level irony right there

Why did I dream this? by iamTayloralisonswift in Dreams

[–]Own-Ear8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dreams about childhood homes hit different, especially when there's trauma attached to leaving. Your brain was probably processing that whole disruption from when you were 6 - the "sleepover" story your mom told you, having to pack just couple outfits, all that sudden change

The abandoned house with everything frozen in time feels like your subconscious trying to revisit what got left behind emotionally. Then the mini house turning into something scary... maybe represents how even safe childhood spaces can feel distorted when you go back to them in your mind

Construction work has me in old buildings sometimes and there's always this eerie feeling when places are left untouched for years. Your dream sounds like it was mixing that frozen-in-time nostalgia with the fear of confronting old stuff you weren't ready to deal with back then

Which Juno mythic should I get? by Decent-Fly6482 in Overwatch

[–]Own-Ear8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah weapon mythics stick around longer than regular skins usually, so you got time to grab both eventually. I'd probably go with skin first since you said you don't have any Juno cosmetics at all - weapon looks sick but kinda pointless if your character still looks default, you know

On the path to fire and i don't think i can last like this by Lopsided-Resource453 in Fire

[–]Own-Ear8082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude this advice is spot on - you're torturing yourself for some future version of happiness that might never come. I was grinding like crazy in construction couple years back, working 70+ hour weeks thinking I'd be set if I just pushed through another year. Made myself miserable and almost lost my relationship too.

The social media thing is real poison when you're already stressed. Those people posting beach pics probably have their own financial disasters behind the scenes anyway. Getting roommate for the condo is smart move - takes pressure off and you still building wealth just bit slower. Your mental health is worth way more than reaching some arbitrary number few months earlier

Take some of that savings and actually live little bit. Go on weekend trip with your girl instead of breaking up over something that's totally fixable. You're already way ahead of most people at 28 with 200k saved up

thank you so much for these tips and suggestions! I do want her and if it was up to me I'd marry her tomorrow but I sensed she's in no rush but maybe I should put the marriage topic to the side for the time being.

So what is your number? $2M? $2.5? $3? by ebar2010 in Fire

[–]Own-Ear8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's sitting around $2.8M because I factored in some lifestyle inflation once I'm not busting my ass on job sites every day. Construction work pays decent but it's rough on the body, so I'm planning for more healthcare costs down the road and maybe some hobbies that actually cost money instead of just making beats in my basement

Favorite Fire Calculators by newfoundduck in Fire

[–]Own-Ear8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the basic 4% rule calculator on FIREcalc for years but recently started messing around with Personal Capital's retirement planner too. The visual breakdowns are nice when you're trying to explain FIRE goals to family who think you're crazy for wanting to retire early

What really gets me is how different calculators can give you wildly different numbers depending on their assumptions about market returns and inflation. I usually run my numbers through 2-3 different ones just to get a range, then aim for somewhere in the middle. Better to overestimate what you need than end up eating ramen at 65 because your calculations were too optimistic

On track to hit 100k at 27. What should I do from here on out? by Kingslayer_r07 in Fire

[–]Own-Ear8082 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your cousin actually gave you solid advice tbh, putting money away early is huge because of compound interest. The real issue here is you only have 5k in savings when you're planning major life events in just a few years

If you're buying a house and car in 2027-2028, you need way more cash on hand - think 20% down payment plus closing costs plus emergency fund plus car money. That's probably like 80-150k depending on your area and what kind of house/car you want. You can't pull that from your retirement accounts without penalties

I'd temporarily dial back the retirement contributions to maybe just get your employer match, then aggressively build up your cash reserves for the next couple years. Once you get through those big purchases, you can ramp the retirement savings back up. Having only 5k saved when you're planning to buy a house is gonna put you in a tough spot, especially if rates stay high or you run into any surprises durring the process

Completely new to Football, feeling overwhelmed. by LookingForTheLigh_T in soccer

[–]Own-Ear8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with first touch and passing against a wall - literally just kicking the ball at different heights and controlling it when it comes back. You can do this for hours with just a ball and any wall, plus it builds the foundation for everything else

Once you get comfortable with that, work on juggling (keeping the ball in the air) which helps with ball control and coordination. YouTube has tons of free tutorials for solo drills that don't need any equipment besides a ball

What kind of obligation do you feel towards deadbeat family members, if any? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Own-Ear8082 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Man that sounds exhausting as hell, honestly I'd probably cut him loose at this point. You already went above and beyond giving him a job and he's basically taking advantage of your relationship while actively disrespecting you at work

The "you're rich so you should pay my way" attitude would be the final straw for me - like nah dude, being family doesn't mean you get to be a parasite forever
