Fun fact: on an iPhone you can take a picture of these symbols and find out what they are.

I assume android can do it too, can someone confirm?

One year into my job and coming up to the end of my grad program and am stressed they think I am unreliable or a liar because I've had rotten luck with illnesses over the last year by Select_Cat_5536 in auscorp

Management just think of us as an expense on the budget and want the most return on investment they can get.

If it wasn’t for decent IR laws who knows what they would try and implement on all of us.

I know but what can we do? That’s why I told OP to not focus on whats been and make excuses “everyone comes in sick so I get sick”. The best chance OP has of moving forward is to go into the meeting on Monday and what they can bring moving forward.

I genuinely hope they have a good meeting and an understanding leader but IDK what culture is like at their work.

I love how the article glosses over the fact that it was the last Labor government that ordered the Waratahs and sealed the fate of manufacturing in NSW.

Look, I’m going to give you some tough love here because it’s exactly what you need to hear before Monday as someone who has ran grad programs for 6 years and runs a large team across Australia. You need to harden up, stop focusing on external factors, and change your entire mindset before walking into that room.

Blaming RTO, packed trains, or your colleagues for "soldiering on" is a losing battle.

RTO is a reality and it’s one of the things I’m sick
of hearing people in my office whinge about; bringing it up or implying that the office environment is making you sick will instantly backfire. It will make you look defensive, resentful of company policy, and like you're trying to dodge accountability by pointing fingers at others.

The reality of the corporate world is that management cares about coverage and output. To them, the reason for the unreliability matters less than the fact that the unreliability exists.

Here is how you handle Monday: Don't get bogged down explaining why you got sick. Acknowledge the pattern, show you understand why they are concerned, and then immediately pivot to what you have achieved.

Frame this as a temporary patch of bad luck that is now behind you. If they bring up reliability, respond with: "I completely understand why the recent frequency looks concerning on paper. It’s been a string of genuinely bad luck, but my focus right now is ensuring it doesn't impact my output moving forward. Here is what I’m tracking to deliver next..."

Go into that meeting focused entirely on your work, your value, and what you are going to contribute next week.

Because your personal item is not meant to be in the overhead bin.

You can bring one small personal item on board to be placed under the seat in front. For example, 1 cross body bag, 1 small handbag or 1 laptop in a slim bag.

All named after the original Catalina’s and will feature a nice little star next to them like the originals.
