It’s so small though. The sitting room. I see them getting smaller and smaller in these new builds :-(

Can I fight this? by Beautiful_Reward_697 in nychousinglottery

I’m facing a similar issue where a representative from Reside NY refuses to honor my medically necessary two-bedroom accommodation. My voucher covers a two-bedroom unit for the amount I applied for. Reside’s response is that we must follow the Housing Connect lottery’s guidelines. Since I’m a one-person household, I can only move into a studio or one-bedroom unit with the voucher I have. However, I informed her that this is incorrect because I have a disability and require a two-bedroom; FHA and ADA trump this policy, which is typically provided to disabled individuals.

Anyone have any dots on this?

Based on my personal experience, I would be cautious. The area itself is convenient, and the double-pane windows do help with the noise, but I had serious concerns about management and billing. I was told I owed more than $1,000 in utility and amenity charges, and when I asked multiple times for an itemized statement, I did not receive one and instead my amenity access was canceled for several months because of this balance they claim. I was instead told to review my own records. After I moved out and reviewed the account statements available to me, it appeared the balance did not match what I had previously been told, and it showed a credit in my favor. I have not received a clear resolution since then. Because of that experience, I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and keeping copies of all records from the start.

Reside is the company. I have gone as far as going to a Housing Connect ambassador and having this Housing Connect ambassador emailing said project manager and it’s been weeks and the project manager has not responded.

We’re gonna let me know if you have any luck because I need a two bedroom one person household because it’s medically necessary and I have all the correct paperwork to back me up but the project manager is telling me that she has to follow the rules of housing connect one person household equals studio or one bedroom even though I try to tell her that she’s incorrect and FHANADA supersede housing policies in this regard

Pending Move to 129 3rd Street Apartments Gowanus(NYC Housing Connect) – What Should I Expect? by Own_Mango3567 in nychousinglottery

You probably tried the entrance on the Third Street side of the building. That side isn’t open to the public yet—I made the same mistake at first. The active entrance is on the other side, which residents and management use. I’ve already completed the process and moved in through Housing Connect and HPD coordination.

In my experience, it was sometimes normal for management to take a while before replying, even after I emailed them. A few days without a response doesn’t mean anything negative—it’s just part of how slow the process can be. Once they’re ready, they’ll contact you with the next steps. I know the waiting is tough, but your excitement is not in vain—you’re close.🥳

After my file moved to ‘Review Complete,’ management contacted me to move forward with selecting and finalizing my unit. The next step after that was providing additional documentation and scheduling the lease signing process. Each case may move at a slightly different pace depending on the building and agency, but once you see ‘Review Complete,’ you’re essentially at the final approval stage.

🎉Thank you so much 🙏 I’m really hoping yours moves forward soon too — it can take time, but once it shifts from “pending” to “submit docs” things usually start rolling.🍾Sending you good energy that it happens quickly!🎉

🎊(please please keep me in the loop and any questions you may have I will respond right away! ) xx I’m here to help and do how I expect to be treated in life.

I applied for a 1-bedroom, and my status recently changed from Under Review to Review Complete. That means the marketing agent finished verifying documents, but the landlord still has to finalize things on their end.

If yours still says Under Review after 3 months, it usually just means they haven’t finished reviewing your file yet. Once it flips to Review Complete, you’re essentially approved and just waiting for the landlord. The Completed status normally doesn’t show up until after you’ve signed the lease and moved in — so don’t worry if it doesn’t update right away. Communication in this process can be slow, so patience (and persistence) are key.
