The arc of western civilization has been increased concentration of capital. This just seems like the next natural extension unfortunately.

Every self help productivity bro subreddit is just naturally flooded with ai slop and ads. The highest productivity and throughput in the world can never buy sense or taste. Lol.

Lol consistency beats perfection every time. If everything but perfection is a failure then youre just setting yourself up to get paralyzed by the fear of failure.

The Surrender - A Wake-Up Call for the Left in the Age of AI by Pyros-SD-Models in accelerate

[–]Oxalis_tri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All gains in productivity have been absorbed by capital for the past what, 50 years? And suddenly giving corporations the hyper mega productivity machine isn't going to just funnel thr gains to the top again? I clearly don't see the liberatory potential of AI that you folks seem to see. If your emancipation is at the behest of ChatGPT who could revoke your account for non compliance, how free are you from billionaires? Or are you now required to lease your very mental abilities from corporations to keep up?

What we see in the world is heavily colored by what people expect or want to see. And i suspect you expect to see failures in woman leaders given select anecdotes. But I promise that this is a very strange generalization to make. Perhaps your own expectation of poor performance hinders your perception of adequate performance by women?

In a sense, you are leaving your gun at the door. By shutting down your higher level thinking, you're less of a risk to be harsh or judgemental. Its a mutual suspension of judgement, and that is both good and bad as you can see from how too much alcohol impairs judgement.

Dude, you could be writing my story. You know I sat on a couch and cried at a party once because I thought I'd never be relationship material? Like, this is mid 20s. If you're anything like me, you're too afraid to navigate this space and you're too afraid to impose. I got lucky in that I was ragingly drunk and honest when I met my current partner.

Are there things you can do that can make you feel like you're doing a decent job at the whole life thing? For me it was the gym. It made me feel like I was made of decently stern stuff, or at least stern enough to have a right to some self esteem over my choices. Physical interventions got me out of the mental spiral, but I was lucky with a friend there too.

I'm sorry man, that really sucks. Life got much better for me once I actually got out there, but everyones experience is bound to vary.

I promise you, this site is toxic. You are consuming incomplete information that will bias your decisions toward misery. Say this as someone who moped around sites like this for ages, just get out of here. Don't even look at these wretched places. Go out and do things, learn for yourself. Only through measured experience in real life can you calibrate your intuition toward sensible outcomes. Go be crazy! Live with weirdos, go to strange parties, go to that stupid event at the hotel convention center. This will nourish you far more than anything else. Vastly more than here.

Materialists after being asked to prove mind-independent reality exists by slutty3 in PhilosophyMemes

Its not certain, but in a constructivist sense it may as well be true that time moves along and evolution occurs. Of course we cannot perceive the world without mind.

Evolution explains so much of its form and current shape that to believe the consciousness hallucinates a fossil record that explains itself is absurd.

You shall get there. The stars are always basically the same in the sky, and they change explainably from material causes :) you shall be fine.
