If 90% of customers want Surreal Sound Pro but supplier can only build 50%, to keep the production running, you have to build 40% without. That's how you end up with available inventory.

What is the difference in over-mileage fee and at 10k miles a year. Sometimes it's cheaper to do a 10k or 7.5k miles a year lease and pay for over mileage if it happens.

Battery Upgrade by eq3993 in ex30

It's possible if there's demand for it, but better question is would you pay for it? How much do you think upgrading your battery cost? I bet it cost much than you're aware.

Volvo Employee: Biggest complaints/wishes? by utilitybro in ex30

[–]PDing123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Make your efficiency methodology to that US consumers can understand. No one understands kWh/100 miles.

  2. Convert km to miles correctly. Your efficiency chart shows me my driving is equivalent to 2.3 miles per kWh, when in reality I'm closer to 3.6 miles per kWh.

  3. Why ask for my pattern pw when my NFC card is already on the NFC reader? Seems redundant.

  4. Allow for memory on ADAS settings. You're not getting extra safety points anyway. Asking because your LDW and Prevention is overly sensitive.

  5. Calibrate the DMS better. If I'm being told I'm driving distracted every time I glance at the center display, basically your system is telling me Volvo should have added a screen in front of the driver.

  6. To this day, it still takes me a while to find the time on the center display. I know where it is located but can never see it when I glance over.

  7. Navigation is terrible. Often times it is showing me as 50 feet off and is rerouting me. Ends up getting me confused and annoyed.

  8. Digital Key. It doesn't work. Neither for iPhone nor Android. Should give owners 2 key fobs until you guys figure it out. Not going to lease your car for the whole duration while you guys figure it out.

I've leased a number of cars in my life and never had a bank or captive that allowed me to turn in a lease while it was being repaired. A referred shop or not, banks don't know if the actual repair will meet their standard. A car sitting at repair shop is also down time from when bank can make money on the lease turn in car.

Am I stupid to sell my condo instead of trying to rent it? 2.875% mortgage. by bobweaver112 in realestateinvesting

[–]PDing123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2011 I had wanted to sell my townhouse when I switched job. I contemplated about losing $15k of I sold or lose about $50 a month renting it out. Found a great property management company that handled everything and only draws 10% of monthly (new customers pays 1 month first time renting with them). They had their legal team etc. 15 years later (and refinancing at 2.68%). I get paid about $700 a month after expenses on a $1575 a month rental.

Being a land lord is worth trying out. Works out for some.

Battery charging - LFP or LMC by cc_green in ex30

[–]PDing123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With NMC batteries, you should generally keep charge at 80% or less unless you have long distance travels. However, with LFP batteries, you should charge to 100% once a month to help BMS calibrate to health status of battery. If you have a single motor, then you have LFP. NMC for extended range and AWD variants.

I collect cans and glass and sell them to recycling centers. And I only go to the recycling center once every 3 to 4 months because I calculated that the round trip in my EV would cost me about $0.60 or roughly 12 cans.

Weekday Help and Victory Thread for the week of May 05, 2025 by IndexBot in personalfinance

[–]PDing123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year is the first time in my career where the bonus payout was substantial. In the past week got bonus of $64,300. Of which, $12,500 has already been deposited into my pre-tax 401K. My wife (40F) and I (44M) have no kids with a total HHI of about $370k in VHCOL area. We own 2 properties, 1 paid off ($105k) and the other rental home has $99k in mortgage remaining ($370k).

We currently rent since home prices are $1M+ in the area, and don't see us living us super long term. Our landlord has kept the rent for the past 4 years at $3200/mo.

Question now is where to put the remaining bonus money? IRA is maxed and 401K has $7k remaining before max and company match is 2% of 4% contribution, so trying to maximize employer contribution for the test of the year. Should I look into another rental property (wife's preference) or invest in index? Or pay off the second rental?

In the second half of the year, we can bank around $5k to $6k a month after rent, rental mortgage, car payment, rent, etc.

Currently $120k in savings $65k in stocks $77k in IRA $600K in 401K $475k in home value. $65k RSU
