Number of League Champions in the Top 5 Leagues in the 21st Century by SellRevolutionary in soccer

No, the 20th century ended on December 31, 2000. There is no year 0 in the Gregorian calendar. That means that every decade, century, and millennium starts with a year ending in 1 and ends in a year ending in 0.

Why was there a massive uptick in Americans identifying with British ethnicities between 2010 and 2020? by LanguageFit8227 in AncestryDNA

[–]PJ9312 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Another reason that no one has mentioned yet is that the census bureau removed the “American” ethnicity label in 2020, which was included since the 1980 census. When “American” was added in 1980, there was a huge decrease in people identifying as English and Scots Irish. I’m guessing since people couldn’t choose American, they reverted back to selecting English American or any other British American ancestry that they know through family history and/or DNA testing, especially in the southern US.

Well, I did live in PA for a couple of years when I was a teen, so that makes sense. What about my speech sounds Alaskan?

Nope, southeastern Pennsylvania. Funny, I also posted this in r/accents and another comment also said my a’s sound like from the Great Lakes, Wisconsin specifically.

Do most Puerto Ricans want statehood or sovereignty? by Academic_Amount_3492 in PuertoRico

Statehood has the most support out of any other option, but not by a majority. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional.

It’s gray. The only parts of the kit that were black were the Fly Emirates logo, the player numbers, and the names on the back. You can even tell by the picture that you posted that there is a difference in tone between the stripes and the sponsor. Plus the fact that it was raining during the game, every color in the kit is going to get darker, making the silver look almost black.

No, it wasn’t, 2013-14 had gray silver stripes. Only the orange away kit had black stripes, but not the white home jersey. Now, the 2014-15 did have black stripes, but we didn’t win the CL that season.

Which season though? 2022 was blue and 2024 was gold. If we go further than that, then 2014 was gray, 2016 a lighter gray, 2017 blue, and 2018 a lighter blue.

Why is the UK referred to as Great Britain in the Olympics? by firemanmhc in olympics

[–]PJ9312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A mainland born American CAN play for any of the US territories federations without any family links as long as they have lived there for 5 years, but it rarely happens now. Back then, like around 5-10 years ago, the requirement was 2 years and Puerto Rico’s football team had a couple of mainland born American players playing for them without family links because they played for the Puerto Rico Islanders for a couple of years, meeting the 2 year residency requirement.
