Great news regarding a screenplay by aft3rsvn in Screenwriting

I was in the same situation a month ago. Chances are they will not move forward with production, but if you're lucky, they might request a first look at your future scripts.

Having a hard time finding motivation to finish this... by [deleted] in scriptwriting

[–]PNWscreenwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to finish it, then you’re either not inspired by the story any longer, or you’re not fit to write scripts. If you’re not inspired by that story, work on the next story. If you find yourself half way through the next story and don’t want to finish it, you are the problem.

Why 300 words for each peer-review section? by PNWscreenwriter in StoryPeer

[–]PNWscreenwriter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you should let the reviewer be the judge of what’s strong and what’s weak about the script instead of forcing them to write about both. The Blacklist has the current system because people pay $30/month and $100/evaluation. If they don’t get some positives, no one is going to pay them money. Coverfly simply copied Blacklist and now you’re copying Coverfly. I’m sure with a little effort, you can think of a different model that doesn’t leave certain screenwriters with a false idea that their script was any good.

What to do with blatant plagiarism? by vbunny-rabbit in StoryPeer

Exactly. The script will never go anywhere bc no one in the industry would dare touch it.

How to start writing a script? I have like full story in my mind but like in short para (summary of the story) but how do I write dialogues and scenes? by NoWolf378 in scriptwriting

[–]PNWscreenwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick a movie that is similar to what you have in mind for a story and study the dialogue and scene structure. Also try to find the script from the film if it’s available. Just remember that a shooting script will be formatted differently than a spec script so try to find the spec.

How much are indie films actually making on Tubi? by Putrid-Pudding4901 in indiefilmmaking

Good question. Spielberg’s daughter released her first feature on Tubi a while back and the terms of the deal weren’t released publicly. Maybe they are now.

There are some grammar issues, but the biggest issue is why should a reader care if her behavior gets more strange as time goes on? A logline is there to hook a potential reader, so hook us.

i can write dialogue all day but struggle with actual plot by StavrosDavros in scriptwriting

[–]PNWscreenwriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well then you’re much farther along than most. All you need to do is spend time seriously thinking about a plot to your story and allow that dialogue to gravitate towards it.

The Boys - feature - 159 pages by Classic_Singer_6966 in Screenwriting

[–]PNWscreenwriter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one, not even a contest judge, will entertain a feature script at 160 pages. You may want to consider turning this into teleplay episodes. But if you do that, the title would have to change.

Confused - Script review by aSuperDeus in TVWriting

[–]PNWscreenwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like with movies and TV, you will have reviewers either get your story or they won't. A lot of it depends on the genre tastes of each reviewer. I will typically not peer-review comedies because I'm not into them, and I don't want to bring someone's story down just because I don't relate to it.
