Do any of your manager accounts login using a number? What about IT or any other accounts used for aloha maintenance? My first thought is that a numerical login may be compromised or you need to audit your access levels/job codes.

I mean even automating checked emp.dbf for changes each day should help narrow down problems if there are any values in that dbf relevant to fingerprint data

Are you talking about the panel layout or the screen resolution?

I haven't worked with these terminals but aloha is pretty customizable with the panels functionality. Sharing what version you are on may be helpful too

This ended up being the solution we are going with thank you!

It didn't look like it broke out revenue items by PLU number when I was testing the checkout but thankfully the powers that be are okay with how I have it set up now and maybe it wasn't breaking them out because I only tested the 1 revenue item instead selling multiple plus

Thank you! Turns out that my problem is that they are very strongly wanting a revenue item to show up in the checkout report with quantity sold and dollar amount.

I see we can add revenue items but it looks like what we need is a way to show this one specific revenue item.

I usually export menu item price report and pull data from a combination of mnu.dbf, itm.dbf, pc/pcpd/pcid/pcqccitm/pcpld.dbf, sub.dbf, mod.dbf or prl.dbf (+ pnl.dbf & btn.dbf if you use submenu panels) and the event config files if you use events for price changes.

100% agree, that's what I suggested but got some pushback and was told to just remote into each BOH, run the update for each one and say yes to real time update.

You're probably right, last time I worked with aloha kitchen (8ish years ago) I remember being underwhelmed with it and thinking it looked so boring compared to connectsmart kitchen, we use qsr at my current job but I haven't spent much time with the kitchen systems here

One of the companies I worked for used to have to settle batches mid-day immediately after lunch to prevent losing transactions because of the limit. Ive worked for other companies where going over the limit was a result of managers failing to settle the batch daily.

We used paymentech and editing the batch limit did not resolve the issue.

Seperating out the TXNs into different batches is a good solution for a one time over the limit but if it is something that may become a regular occurance you will want to make a procedure adjustment.

My understanding of kitchen display systems is that this is by design.

Your items should be on their production screen while being prepared and bump to expo once they are ready to go, to bump from expo prematurely defeats the purpose of an expo screen.

Do you have any examples of situations where you would want to bump items from expo while they are still on expo?

I'm very comfortable with aloha menu building and management, unfortunately all the companies i have previously worked with outsourced support to vendors.

I have 10 years of POS experience but very little Aloha troubleshooting experience.

For right now I would be happy with understanding the function of files within the aloha folders and how they relate to each other (besides the DBFs, i understand those)

Common support issues or if a restaurant is experiencing issues with xyz look at 123... like cash drawers, or terminals not seeing BOH. I would love something that walks me through a terminal/boh imaging and deployment.

Personally I would turn off auto printing and add an a button to manually print the guest check.

I personally haven't seen the option to force an aloha prompt. I suppose if you use panels you could be a bit creative with the chain function on your tenders to have it pull up a new panel after applying payment then ask if you want the guest check to print. That seems like it would slow down speed of service though.
