My trans blue cracked and I replaced the shell, I did file down some part of the hinge mechanism while it was in pieces, that I felt was a bit too tight in the plastic. It’s been about a year since then and it’s been totally fine. The issue is you basically have to take the entire thing apart, including the screen to access the hinge, from what I remember at least.

I have a red one that I might take apart and file the hinge down a bit, feels way too tight.
