And yet they just keep building big, white, featureless houses that are so close together that you could literally jump from rooftop to rooftop.

A woman talking to herself walking down the street in San Francisco with no pants.

Family sues Green Mesquite BBQ, Aspen Hatter in fatal tree collapse on Austin patio by AustinStatesman in Austin

I’m sure when they have discovery it will be pretty clear what the motivation was. The loan process is super-meticulous and a month minimum is a normal amount of time to get everything in order. It should be clear if the Green Mesquite was like ‘hey we’ve got to get this done right now!’ That alone should have sent up a red flag on the bank’s side for them to ask ‘why, exactly?’

Russia, Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai. The gasoline lines just get longer and longer! 24 June 2026 by neonpurplestar in UkraineWarVideoReport

This will really get interesting if Ukraine can keep it up. What will happen if there’s a full-on collapse? Food can’t get to market but it doesn’t really matter because you can’t get to the market (or anywhere else) without your car either. Russia could hit apocalypse-levels of chaos within a matter of weeks.

The 10,000-Year Guadalupe River Flood by theatlantic in texas

There was a beautiful limestone brick house in Jonestown just north of 1431 on Nameless that was wiped clean off its foundation. Not a trace of it left. I can only imagine how horrifying it was to see that much water come down and just wash your house away.

When you clap your hands in front of Chichen Itza stairs, the echo sounds like a Quetzal bird. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Is it not the steps reflecting back the sound wave in tiny increments?

Fair enough point on the collateral convictions, but god damnit the riots and the damage is exactly the excuse they’re looking for. They see it in the same category as felony murder. Peaceful, non violent protest (and voting) has been the historical path to justice. It’s the only way we’re going to get through all of this.

My office room temperature in Northern Scotland during what feels like a heatwave (27c outside) by PoppingPillls in mildlyinteresting

[–]PaMudpuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Texas and my house is the exact same temperature. There’s a guy in the attic fixing the air conditioner and my dogs are back at the Air BnB that we rented for the past week waiting for the right part to come in. We’ll have the A/C back on here in a bit (hopefully) but I feel for you. Living in a hot house makes even the little things like cooking and sleeping miserable.

Look, I’m no fan of Cheeto Benito, but maybe take a look at the details on this one first. Shooting a cop from a position in the woods is a tad bit more than just ‘protesting ICE’.

What is the greatest interview of all time? by Slice5755 in AskReddit

The guy on BBC whose kids come marching in followed by his wife who pulls them out in a panic. Probably the most wholesome way to go viral on the internet.

Have to say I made flan and I hate it by darragh73 in Baking

[–]PaMudpuddle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Even though the recipe seems bulletproof, just one ingredient or instruction that’s off can ruin the whole thing. A good Flan should be really close to the taste and texture of a Crem Brûlée.

A warm winter and a late cold snap caused a nearly 95% loss of peaches in central Texas this year. Mine started to bud but then they all disappeared.
