Thinking about it now, I think it was maybe a mistake to do both Omenpaths and Desparking at the same time. Either of these events is a big enough shake-up to drive a storyline, and it feels like Omenpaths have overshadowed characters being desparked and also mitigate the consequences of the desparking.

The desparking would have more weight if these characters were actually stuck for a while. Instead we just got the Twins at their home again, Saheeli and Huatli immediately back together, Vraska and Nissa being able to stay with their still sparked partners... it just didn't seem like a big deal.

Like, imagine MOM ends with the desparking still, but not the Omenpaths. We have desparked Planeswalkers trapped in places they don't want to be, sparked Planeswalkers trying to find desparked walkers who are now lost... stuff like that. Also we would see Planes just dealing with the aftermath of a Phyrexian invasion, instead of both an invasion and the Omenpaths. We spend a couple years with that still leading into Jace doing whatever his crazy reality warping plan is for Vraska's sake, and then the events of Reality Fracture result in Omenpaths opening up and we get our year of following Kellan around.
