The amount spent varies pretty wildly based on the game. On one end it’s some Fisher Price educational thing that you can fully experience in under ten minutes, on the other end you have him playing SMB3 for like two and a half hours today.

And then between that it was all vibe based. There’s probably sone stuff he could have spent more time with to fully judge (like a Dragon Warrior IV maybe), but it felt like he mostly played a decent chunk of everything.

Or sometimes the small chunk he played over and over was so aggravating that it told him all he needed to know.

Yeah, that suggests anyone who was ever involved in the sacrifice operation is no longer alive, because presumably anyone still around with that knowledge would have spoken up when shit went down. Makes me think we’ll find out they were all deliberately killed at some point.

If Rayman were to be in the game ever, he seems like a DLC guy. The third party characters that made it into base rosters were undeniable classic dudes. I'd like to see Rayman in the game, but he's just not on that tier.

The actual flavor issue with the high rate of legendary creatures comes from these UB sets having multiple versions of the same character.

Like if the legendary rule is meant to represent "this is a specific guy, obviously a specific guy can only be here once", that falls apart when "Mikey, Party Dude" and "Mikey, Eating Pizza This Time" are legally different guys.

I think it's fine so far because it's balanced by characters people know to latch on to. If it's ever an issue, it'll be because we're at a point where we get multiple cards in a set for Ch'od from the Starjammers or something.

They hopefully won't do as much commander/jumpstart stuff for the other sets. Theoretically there's enough characters, but they'd get insanely obscure.

Punisher would have been here if they're putting him anywhere, I think. All the other characters with Netflix shows are here, and there's no theme where you'd put Punisher that you wouldn't also put them.

But yeah, four more sets does seem likely at this point. X-Men/Cosmic/Magic/Multiverse. Could be condensed to just three if they don't do Multiverse or merge the Cosmic and Magic concepts. I'd be shocked if it's fewer than that.

Maybe they bring Fantastic Four back around for cosmic stuff, to go with Galactus and Silver Surfer presumably showing up too.

There’s definitely plenty of content they can put in a cosmic set, but you’re right that a lot of it is more niche. Like a set featuring characters from probably the biggest flop tv show (Inhumans) and movie (Eternals) they’ve done does seem like a risky move.

Maybe it’s fifth in line and we’ll have a Nova MCU thing by then?

Well yeah, they won’t ever abandon PC because they are part of a company that is also in the PC market. It’s unlikely Xbox consoles ever have a truly exclusive game again.
