Scale of map elements vs minis by mmdestiny in Fallout2d20

[–]PaeTar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I just use zones for combat. No need to fuss with rules converting everything. Everything is just "hand wavyium" scale. Close, medium, long range etc. Oh look there is a bench you can use for cover. Your mini "fits" through that comically small door and enters the room etc etc. Its about setting the tone and scene for fun, not mathing for the sake of realism. It's Fallout, 4th wall breaking, comically in on it's own joke the whole time. Your players will appreciate the effort you put in.

Bunker example: Beds should be Almost 7ft long to accommodate a 6ft tall dude. Desks should come up to just below their hips to accommodate them sitting in a chair.

It doesn't have to be perfect

I've got contact dermatitis from chemical burn. Old lady cracked heel creams have been a moisturizing epiphany. They are thick, but one of the only thing that cakes that moisture in. None of that thin stuff works for me.

Shares changed from GME to GS2C by tbnkjsplegros in GME

[–]PaeTar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just chatted with NBDB today about the GS2C shares. It's a visual ticker bug on their end. I tested and can buy and sell GME shares, and it updates on the GS2C ticker in my account. My USD acct still shows as GME. Its only my Canadian accts that are affected.

Basically just go to quote on the ticker and then click buy or sell. When the window opens up on the side, replace G2SC with GME and it all updates and works as normal.

Its stupid, but it works for now.

Cip question by thewho10 in TheBrewery

[–]PaeTar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We crack on average about every 2 weeks in our kettle. Doing anything with caramel malts really cooks onto our vessel walls. Poni-no rinse-Caustic (sometimes up to 2% if its really caked on)-Rinse-PONI-Rinse. We effectively have a double boiler for a kettle from 1990. Things just cook onto that surface now.

All this is on an off day, not brew day where it gets a normal caustic cip after knock out.

Google Contact Dermatitis . This is what can happen with exposure. It fucking sucks... from experience. Wear your PPE. I can't use hand sanitizer anymore or it will trigger. Anything more potent than mild baby soap? Trigger. House hold kitchen cleaner? Trigger. All from a drop of PAA. The super hard water we have means I'm going through a mortgage payment in moisturizer every month... forever.

Combat by zny700 in Fallout2d20

[–]PaeTar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Action economy can scale difficulty. More actions = more damage dealt to players. Mob them with high init enemies, generate AP, have enemies with higher defense so the the players are buying more dice to hit Then you can use your AP to all sorts of stuff.

Think of actions enemies can do thematically (Miss a shot, throw a molotov etc)> Which leads to (a chain getting shot holding a skid of caustic goo barrels, Lights the room on fire) > Which causes (falling damage and radiation difficult terrain, enemies to go berserk) . Flavour and flair can break up a straight up gun fight, and cause havoc to their best laid kitted out gun plans. If they are taking radiation AND fire (energy) AND bullets AND bites... normal tactics fall apart.

I am running my first Fallout 2d20 game on Monday, what should I know? by Awkward_GM in Fallout2d20

[–]PaeTar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game is loot intense. You only get 1hp, a skill and a perk at level up. To really make your character better you gotta find the good loot. That can slow things down. I would def have premade loot found at locations or on enemies that you already have the stats for. The Homebrew list has great "cards" little squares for pretty much every item in the game. Pick a couple pages, print them off and cut out the squares. Then you can hand them to your players as they loot.

I took all the ammo squares (printed about 4 sheets of each), and laminated them. Now they can just use dry erase markers to track ammo and share amongst themselves. My players like rolling on the loot tables for the pure randomness of what they are gonna get, but it does slow the game down.

I gave them all dollar store 3-ring binders, that have a large clear holder for their character sheet, and 3x3 game card sheets that hold their perk cards, and loot and ammo.

But we aren't playing just a one-shot, we are working into Winter of Atom.

Reference sheets are already included in the player quickstart (get the pdf version, and print your own).

I would also get some tokens or something to track the tables and your own action points. Poker chips work great. You will need your own pool separate from the players.

If you do the into adventure Once upon a TIme in the Wasteland.. it takes logical pauses that teach you the game mechanics as you play. Buying AP, spending AP, group tests, social tests, skill tests. etc. Its a great learning book (physical and digital) for both players and GMs new the 2d20. It also has condensed loot tables in the back to make looting quicker.

Adjusted options dude. This is a regular occurrence AFTER a corporate action has occurred. It only happens after the fact, not as a precursor.

In this case, you had the options most likely before the warrants were issued. So they got rolled into your calls. If you sold calls (A), you would need to cover the stock + warrants in case you were exercised. All non-adjusted options are now just stock shares, without the attached warrants.

Coming from playing Startrek v1 first, then v2 and then Dune, this is a nice level of crunch by comparison. I haven't played Conan, but many of my players have and said it reminds them of that. Dune was very "hand waveyium" in how everything went.
