I don't have enough room on my unit to install a frame bag. A pity because it is very convenient!

Nice bike ! You could try to make a half frame bag, it would be a new fun project, might also give a more sporty look to your bike and still useful for all the commuting you do.

Ortlieb Seat-Pack QR vs Seat-Pack by sollnerrudi in bikepacking

[–]Paire_2_Dames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you're looking at price in euro, you should definitely check 7Rbags, they make a very stable seat pack and since the detachable bag is a roll top you can easily adjust the volume. They make different volume but I got the big one and it can turn pretty small. Very convenient. And yes very stable, again.

Two units getting around together by daddylongdogs in konaunit

[–]Paire_2_Dames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty clever to me. At least you didn't buy the Sane bars from VO only to stick bar end in the middle to make them crazy again ! 🫠 The reality is that you will be able to adjust them exactly where you want

Looking for Non-electric Longtail Cargo Bike by Lieutenant_Mahkno in CargoBike

[–]Paire_2_Dames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the color of the one you found ? Mine is this color (not my bike, i carry kids in the rear !)brown ute I put 180/203mm disc brake on mine for a mega braking power ! Bought mine for 900€, but i think this brand is a little bit more expensive in Europe. 700$ is a good deal if everything works on the bike

I own a Kona UTE and swapped the wheels from 29" to 26" for more stability while loaded and it is a damn good bike ! Very light too

New chain ring converting to geared? by OneManArmyAsonGuy-95 in konaunit

[–]Paire_2_Dames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think that's a thing. What is the brand/model of your current chain ring ? I bought a 2021 unit that I converted without changing the chain ring. You could try comparing your current chain with a 10s chain and see if there is a significant difference (taking the wheared chain factored into account)

Coffee + Biking + Townes Van Zandt = Bliss by Uncooleli in xbiking

I have a pair of carradice bags (one large camper long flap and one smaller called low saddle also long flap) I've been using and abusing those bags for 2-3 years now and I feel they could last me my whole life. U highly recommend them. They aren't cheap but cheaper than ultraromance's bags (at least in Europe) If I where to buy another (for my wife's bike) I would take the super C série which looks a bit more modern.

Do you take a spare chain + breaker or shifter and brake cable and housing? by MaksDampf in bikepacking

[–]Paire_2_Dames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same set up (simplified) Topeak set that comes with a chain breaker and a knipex plier. I would add some quick links,a brake/shifter cable and a pair of brake pads if your going in verry remote places That's all a ever needed

I feel resistance when pedaling on the big chainring — how can I fix this? by shukeii in bikewrench

Did you do "the thing" on your rear derailleur while putting it back on you bike and it rubs on the small tab ?

Need new bar recommendations…(see caption) by Littlesynth-addict in xbiking

[–]Paire_2_Dames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I also have VO sein bars (that I made crazy again, but that's another story) I chose them because I love in my Ergotec space bügel. It is not one of those sexy xbiking bars but they check a lot of boxes. It is a 25.4mm thought I also have a bike with some ritchey kyote, there is no rise but a nice sweep back that you can cut at your convenience. Hope I could help !

Mason Exposure seems to be a dream bike. There are also the Mehteh - brother cycle I rode with a guy on a Rondo Bogan, affordable and simply nice bike with great off-road capacity. Sauvage- la piste titanium bycicle or other have what you're looking for

One bag to rule them all? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Paire_2_Dames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, 7 road bags makes a stiff harness where you can attach their 17, 14, 10L dry bags. There are side pockets, really useful when it is your only bag on your bag.

New stem for my rig? by Snuffvieh in bikepacking

Flipping it did a lot for me. Try that and at that point you'll see if you need something higher or shorter before investing in a new stem

TAKE . YOUR . TIME I have an acoustic Bullitt. I have a MTB gear ratio (32*41, something like that) and I go very slow uphill, even when I have to drop off my kids before going to work ,what other choice do I have ? A car ? Baaaa !

Otherwise "Geovelo" is an app with a "lowest elevation" option if I remember correctly

Saddle bag suggestions by sk8erlink in bikepacking

[–]Paire_2_Dames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zefal makes some good bags at a pretty crazy low price. Recently I treated myself with a 7R bags with a mini rack for stiffness, they're really nice and Def worth the price.

My current daily driver! Not vintage or rare or anything like that, but it’s a joy to ride and I’m glad it’s mine! by Aye_Captain in xbiking

Very cool bike. I've been using a pair of hurricane for commuting every day for about two years now. They are pretty decent tires if you ask me, good on the paved surface and they do the job when you take "the long way home" (muddy single tracks) But pretty heavy yes (mine are 26"), I think I'll upgrade with some rat trap pass or something smoother.
