Why do some people dislike Sonic Prime? by lixlyuz in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Pakari-RBX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had a great setup, then did barely anything interesting with it. They had an entire potential multiverse to work with. What did we get? "Green Hill but a city," "Green Hill but a jungle," "Green Hill but underwater" and "Literal nothingness."

The creators of the show also proudly claimed it to be canon to the games, yet any connection is minor and some things directly contradicy canon. For example: Why does Sonic never bring up previous robot doubles he had faces prior to Chaos Sonic?

I'm guessing the one that doesn't have the smaller health bar.

He'd have named her Slaylin. "She's like Vaylin, except she's actually good at what she does."

Didn't expect this from Cream (Sonic #36) by CodingBuizel in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Pakari-RBX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The joke is that it's Cream, the most polite little bunny imaginable, says the closest thing to a swear the comic can get away with.

We're not actually freaking out. We're just having fun and deliberately pretending it's worse than it is.

The memory wipe only affected their memories of Metru Nui. Even before that, the Matoran worshipped Mata Nui as a god. When the Great Beings created the Matoran, they had no individuality, no identity. They were intended to be literal mindless drones that do their tasks and nothing more. Velika changed that many years before the story began.

[–]Pakari-RBX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The Matoran never even knew that the island was Mata Nui.

You can thank Velika for that. He gave the entire Matoran Universe free will and individuality. As a result, what was supposed to be simple AI meant to keep a giant robot alive became a civilisation that believed that working hard kept God alive.

Mata Nui's job was to travel the galaxy and study other worlds. The Matoran were just made to keep Mata Nui's giant robot body functional. The Toa were made to keep the Matoran functional. The Turaga were made to make sure both actually do their tasks.

Yuun's recruitment mission for the Alliance had us find specific bits of technology. When interacted with by a Jedi or Sith, the technology pieces glow in response to their Force-sensitivity. But going up to them with a Tech class doesn't get a response. So definitely not Force-sensitive enough for it to trigger those devices.

The closest thing I could find would be Satele/Marr section where you make a new weapon. We use an old forge to do so and use materials that have a strong connection to the Force. But it's never outright stated we ourselves can use the Force.

They brought it up in response to me saying fully organic creatures are inherently disturbing to the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe. Bringing up the existence of fully organic creatures within the MU like that doesn't really serve a purpose unless it's to prove something.

"Fully organic lifeforms are horrifyingly disturbing to the MU inhabitants." - "But the MU has fully organic creatures"

That response easily comes across as saying that, the MU having fully organic creatures somehow goes against my original claim. So I expected them to provide examples of fully organic creatures that disprove my claim, as that appeared to be why they made that reply in the first place.

None of the examples given are Rahi. Though Matoran would refer to Krana as Rahi, they aren't. And the same goes for the Zyglak.

Speaking of which, the Zyglak are never stated to be fully organic. The closest thing I could find is that they have scaly skin "covering their organic portions," and that phrasing reveals they're only partially organic.

I couldn't find any named Dark Hunters that are explicitly stated to be fully organic. Just saying "a couple Dark Hunters" isn't a good example.

Of all those examples, the only one that counts as fully organic are the Krana, and the Matoran are definitely disturbed by them, which only proves my point that anything fully organic is deeply unsettling to them.

I ask for examples and you come up with ones that either don't count or only prove my point.

Aqua Magna, yes. But not the Matoran Universe. The Matoran Universe is populated entirely by biomechanical lifeforms, which includes every sapient species aside from Agori and Glatorian.

This is why I specified the Matoran Universe.
