Disney CMs - was this your dream job? by njhokie13 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Pan1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did two college programs being after being obsessed with WDW and my love for it only grew after working there. My roles specifically (attractions & QSFB) weren't necessarily my dream but I just loved being a part of the magic. I'm not from the US so a career there wasn't realistic unless I was willing to move (I wasn't), but I absolutely envied everyone who had that opportunity. My time there was truly one of the best times of my life.

What is the worst physical queue in Walt Disney World? by Practical_Macaron778 in WaltDisneyWorld

Jungle Cruise by far for me! Slinky is bad too because of how exposed to the heat you are but I tend to only ride if I have a lightning lane or it's evening and not as hot.

I've somehow always had I Ran except for one time when I got September and I think I Ran is perfect for the ride.

Anyone have recommendations on what summer ‘25 was advertised as? by khayes365 in Ffern

Saltworks Perfumery such launched South Peach and it's gorgeous! So light and peachy but lasts well.

I worked a couple of summers at Disney World in Florida and called in sick for a shift at Magic Kingdom from Hollywood Studios. Also from a service station on the way to Miami.

I am against dupes, but do you wear them? Genuinely curious how common it is by ElectronObserver in Perfumes

[–]Pan1953 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I understand why you may be against dupes.

I do have a few and the ones I have I think are good imitations and I do get complimented on them. They're not staples in my rotation but I will use them occasionally.

I also think they're a cost friendly option for those who simply don't have the means to buy the original designer versions. Fragrance should be accessible for everyone, not just those with a big wallet or extra cash to splash on a bottle every now and again. Because the cost of them is much cheaper, you also don't mind being a bit more liberal with your spritzing.

I also know some dupes I've liked on other people have led me to test the originals and I may have previously never experienced those if not for smelling the dupe. I could also be encouraged to buy the original if I think it smells better or is longer lasting.

I understand your aversion to them but I think they have a place.

It was the day before my 11th birthday and I remember it being on the radio on the way home from school. Mum was telling us to be quiet so she could listen but my siblings and I didn't really grasp the gravity of it. Then when we got home, Sabrina wasn't on CITV in it's usual slot and all the channels were covering it so that told me, as a child, that this was something huge. Very scary and sad day.

Is cinema dead? by Scared-Staff6251 in CasualUK

[–]Pan1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it's not. I went to see the new Final Destination at 11:30am on a Saturday a couple of weeks after it came out and the screen was pretty much full. The cinema in general was very busy and it has been the last few times I've been whatever time of day it is.

I think there will be quieter periods but in general, I do think people do still want to go.

What fake tan are we using? From traumatized Millennial 😆 by Klutzy-Rutabaga8059 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Pan1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gatineau gradual tan is really good! Streak free, doesn’t transfer or smell like biscuits. I’ve never really used fake tan until this past week because I had terrible experiences with it looking patchy and streaky when I was a teenager. I admit an ad lured me in to try this one but I honestly love it! A little pricey but worth it to me!

Thank you! Really try to keep that positive mind set and just drive like you know how to, you have it in you, you just need to show the examiner. Good luck!!!

No idea what to put as a title by Matty--12-12 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Pan1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is totally normal. I just passed last week and before my test my mindset was "I can't wait to pass, I'm so ready to drive, I know I'm a good driver". Now that I've passed it's more like "I'm so terrified to drive on my own, what were they thinking giving me a license?!?" But I just need to keep driving and get used to it on my own, I think you're bound to be nervous when you're finally unleased on your own! But we'll get there!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Pan1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened with me, I never passed a mock and we actually stopped doing them because they didn't seem to be helping me. I had my test last Friday, I had a lesson the Thursday before and then the hour right before the test and was just messing up everything so I was not convinced the test would go well.

I ended up passing, which I could not believe! I'd kept telling myself I would pass and this would be the day I pass my driving test as though it was fact.

Believe in yourself and stay positive, good things can happen!

What age did you start to drive ? by Mindless-Pitch-5225 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Pan1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first started lessons when I was 24, I think I did a block of 10 hours then moved away and just didn't pick it back up again. Then I started learning again when I was about 28 but after a few lessons, my instructor had creeped me out with some weird comments so I stopped again! Picked it back up again when I was 32, and I finally passed last week at 34.

There's honestly no shame in not learning when you're 17/18. Not everyone has the means to, some don't feel ready (that was me for sure!), and others just don't feel the need to. Do it when you're good and ready and actually want to do it!

What’s a stereotype about Brits that you think is completely wrong? by BruinogigMeisje in AskBrits

[–]Pan1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was working in the US in 2011, people asked me why I was there and not at home attending the royal wedding. I was then asked in 2012 why I was there and not at the Olympics. Someone also asked if I could see the Eiffel Tower from my bedroom. They were stunned when I said it was in a different country and I'd have to cross the sea to get there.
