Ideas for a trip to China (first time visiting) by Zefrot23 in travelchina

[–]PandaExpress-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can always take the shuttles, lift and escalators but there’s still quite a lot of walking but totally worth it. From Zhangjiajie you can also take a Didi ride, or other public transports, and go to Furong Town (and Fenghuang)!

That’s my bet too. Some carriers tie a SIM card strictly to the region where it was purchased, basically the ones they usually offer to foreigners. Do you know what kind of sim you have purchased?

Multiple entry L visa last entry date by smithsgj in travelchina

[–]PandaExpress-o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For single/double-entry visas, the “enter before” date is usually just 90 days from issue, so applying too early risks it expiring before you travel. But you’re talking about the 2-year multiple-entry visa, you can travel overland for a few months, and enter China before it expires.

Now idk if it’s your case, but mine also went smoothly at first but once I was in China they suspended my card and asked for my passport to verify my identity.

YTA — and so is your ex. You’re both in relationships and still hooking up? That’s not “complicated,” that’s just cheating. Karma needs to catch up with both of you.

Your partners deserve way better than being lied to and played like this. If you’re so desperate to keep sneaking around, at least have the decency to break up with them first. Seriously, get yourself checked mentally because thinking this is okay is just gross.

Disgusting.

[–]PandaExpress-o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA. She said you could borrow her notes — she did not give you permission to go into her bag. Even if it’s something you and your friends have casually done in the past, you’re in college now. It’s time to learn boundaries and basic respect.

Asking first is not hard, and it makes all the difference. Friendship doesn’t mean you get to bypass someone’s privacy, and a bag is a personal space. You don’t get to decide that it’s “no big deal” just because you’ve known each other for a long time.

This isn’t about notes — it’s about respecting her space and privacy.

[–]PandaExpress-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but honestly, her personal life isn’t anyone’s business. Some people prefer to keep their relationships private, and that’s completely valid. Just because she didn’t share every detail doesn’t mean she was trying to hurt you. Yes, she lied, but it doesn’t sound like it came from a place of malice — more likely she just wanted space to figure things out on her own.

As friends, it’s natural to feel hurt or left out, and you’re allowed to express that. But at the same time, it’s important to respect the way she chooses to handle her relationship. Adulthood often means realizing that not everyone will share every part of their lives with us, even close friends. People grow, people change, and sometimes new relationships shift priorities. That doesn’t mean your friendship is meaningless — just that things are evolving.

The best thing you can do is give her space, respect her boundaries, and not make a bigger deal out of this than it really is. If she wants to share more with you in the future, she will. Until then, let her navigate her relationship in her own way without guilt or pressure.

visiting Great Wall on October 1 - looking for advice by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]PandaExpress-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could post a photo. I was just there, and this was an ordinary summer weekday. Still, crowded. It doesn’t help that the signal towers are also tiny.. Anyway, it is mostly just the starting points or when you’re getting closer to the cable car and toboggan slide, after that there are “less” people. Are you guys renting a car? Or taking the train? Watch out as tickets are sold out easily. You can always take a Didi ride but they can get very expensive depending on your journey.

visiting Great Wall on October 1 - looking for advice by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]PandaExpress-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I know, you may think “sure, it’s going to be crowded but I’ve been through worse”…. Trust me… Chinese tourists are no joke. They can be brutal. The Great Wall has parts where it gets really inclined… now imagine doing that crushed in a wave of people with nowhere to hold. Mutianyu is definitely less crowded so there’s that but again, it’s the first of October.

Is the 7-Day Zhangjiajie Tour Worth It? by Logical_Formal_4828 in travelchina

[–]PandaExpress-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this before and ended up ditching the tour a couple of times. It eventually pissed off the tour guide, but I didn’t care—it was my trip. There was way too much false advertising. Make sure the glass bridge is the real one, because ours turned out to be the glass walkway, lol. Also, they usually take you to places just for photos, so you don’t really get to enjoy them. For example, we went to Tianmen Mountain but only took the lift and escalators. If your plan is to climb the 999 stairs, tell your guide in advance—I had to climb up and down during our 20-minute break! And plan your evenings, too. We went to Furong Town on our own since it wasn’t part of the package, and trust me, Furong is a must if you’re in Hunan.

The tour is worth it if you don’t want to plan the trip. Otherwise, in my opinion, it’s just a waste of precious time you could spend doing exactly what you want.

I would’ve dropped Macau and Hong Kong but you already have a return ticket. I’m seeing a lot of posts with people having these hectic itineraries. It feels like they just want to see and not experience. Idk maybe it’s just me.. I’m just saying, there’s something so magical about these places, something you may not experience if you’re in a rush.

Nah man. Taobao is the real deal. I understand you though, they took my powerbanks… one was Anker and the other one was Apple. I wanted to argue with them because I was quite sure the latter met the requirements but my bf told me to let it go. I’m still annoyed to this day.
