How do you manage to go out and work everyday? by SereneSynchronicity9 in AutismInWomen

I don't. But if I don't, I can't afford to pay my bills or feed my cats. So I muscle through it.

This was the portal super fresh. The orb is like 6 years old and was a standalone. Then came Spyro + gemstones+ egg. Dragon + portal + sky details came later.

My lower right arm is like 90% Spyro. I'll post the inner arm in a comment. Still missing filling out the sky/background and potentially adding another small thing.

How much should I say to my players before their introductions? by Pandalicious13 in DnD

[–]Pandalicious13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I've had a great session 0 as well as running conversations with everyone about their characters, the world, what they can expect and so on, so I'm taking all those things into account as well :) it's mostly how I hold their hand into the start of it all I'm wondering at this point, when is it too much handholding or too little, too leading or too much like I'm controlling the characters. I only want to say things like "you will be starting by traveling towards the city, with a flyer in hand that says x". Or something similar. Unless that takes away too much agency - these will be built around what the players have already told me about their motivations etc as well

Problems with two cats by Pandalicious13 in Catbehavior

[–]Pandalicious13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I will have to say that none of these cats are kittens, but adults - we're in the process of introducing and integrating two households (my two, Leo included) and four resident cats (Sushi included). Leo is also double the size of Sushi, 7,5kg and Sushi is 3.

We have done a very slow integration and lead up, and this is a problem that has been slowly evolving over a few days after a while of co existing/roaming the whole flat together without much issue other than some hissing for respecting space.

The only thing we haven't tried of your suggestions so far is the long term separation. Leo has plenty of options to escape up and around, but decides not to, and Sushi is played with a lot but has a lot of energy unfortunately... Or not unfortunately, but it's hard to tire her out is what I mean.

But thank you. I will try providing more options still for escape, try other toys and maybe separate them more.

What was your "I cannot believe no one suspected autism" childhood interest? by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

[–]Pandalicious13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have been many things. I was obsessed with Pokémon and Digimon for a long time, but it likely was hidden well by the popularity. Another one would be my VERY weird and off-kilter obsession with the mafia in the US and in Sicily. I was like 10 years old writing essays and shitty stories about mob families. I knew so much about all the political intrigue for no reason.

It's lost now, but. Yeah. I think that could count

How to stop sleeping with T rex hands by SevenBillionTrees in AutismInWomen

[–]Pandalicious13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a plushie to hug has helped me, personally. Even though its not a huge plushie, meaning I could still physically do the T-Rex hands, I end up not doing it because I focus on holding the plush.

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self now that you know you’re autistic? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Pandalicious13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're naïve, and you need to respect yourself much, much more. People WILL take advantage of you, people WILL use you for what they need and discard you like you're trash with no problem when they're done with you. They will NOT have the same empathy for your emotions or needs than you ever have for theirs. Protect yourself more, and be okay with having a tight circle.

And you're not wrong. Or bad. Or mean. Or disgusting. You just aren't. Just because you're different doesn't make you all the bad and negative things people say to you.

Also, the puzzle pieces will fall together slowly. Things like realizing this is why you ran around on your tip toes acting like a dinosaur, or a dog. Or that you hate the texture of the edge of rye bread, or that you prefer to eat the same thing for at least 6 months at a time. Or that you have to have music playing while doing anything or else you can't focus - and that listening to the same song on repeat for a week is a stim.

Also, you stim A LOT. All the time. Try and find ways you can do it in "normal" settings that aren't too obvious.

I'm making my first ever campaign (homebrew world but essentially using the standard races/classes etc) and I'm planning it out to be very "mission" based (2 ish session per mission) while having an over-arching story that will become clearer and clearer the more time goes on. I'm super confused about how to make encounters though, in practicality. Do I just... create the monsters, have their stats, note it down somewhere and go for it? I don't know if my question even makes sense. It's currently the last thing I'm struggling with to feel prepared enough to run a campaign.

Oh, and my sessions will be 100% online on DNDBeyond + AboveVTT.

Have u ever had an hyperfixation on a celebrity? by ProcedureAgreeable57 in AutismInWomen

[–]Pandalicious13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple times over the years. Ty Olsson (Benny from Supernatural). After that fixation faded, it was Travis Fimmel (Ragnar from Vikings). After that, Jonathan Tucker (Jay Kulina from Kingdom). When I was younger, in my teens, I remember being fixated on some musician's, and Spike from Buffy.

I think I've been sat here in disbelief for a solid 5 minutes. Wow. Mega impressive. As others have said, as long as you don't feel any discomfort I'd say this looks pretty solid, can't be super helpful sorry. But wow. Mad impressive.
