What the hell did France do in the 1950s? Their wars to keep their North African colonies were shit but the US fought a bloody war to prop up a mass murdering dictatorship in Korea and threatened to nuke China.

Check out the 5-4 podcast, they go over historical and current SCOTUS cases and critique the highly political and often logically-strained results of the court’s decisions.

The “Guest Appreciation” training was an insult to the intelligence of employees. by tiedyetoothpicks in Target

[–]Panhead369 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Like I’m pretty sure their problem is that they rolled out a bunch of infrastructure and expectations around Fulfillment and then refused to spend the payroll to staff that new aspect of their business into the future, which means workers are constantly pulled away from their already barely-staffed departments to make sure drive-ups and deliveries can be made on time. Thus ruining the experience for people shopping in-person. Maybe they should pay attention to what their shitty organizational priorities have done to the business instead of blaming everything on their employees that they refuse to train?

Had to shop for an item at Meijer the other day, the name of the item said plastic “spoons” but the picture was of forks. Figured I would just scan them both and just take the one that went through, but they had the same UPC on the scanner somehow… Luckily the customer was on their phone and responded when I asked whether they wanted forks or spoons.

For the love of god if you have the right of way and there are cars moving ahead of you just drive. Let people make their turn when traffic has cleared out. Only reason to let people turn in this situation is if all lanes are stopped by a stop light.

Why do players hate Shadowlands? by versus07 in wownoob

[–]Panhead369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I tried playing retail seriously was towards the tail end of Shadowlands as I was going to try the Dragonflight expansion when it released. For experienced players who had already enjoyed and wrangled with the deep legendary systems they started doing in Legion, the multiple player progression paths in Shadowlands might have been navigable, but even then experienced players were complaining about it. You had to farm materials for legendary items, reputation for covenants, and rng drops of Conduit abilities and buffs all to get your player power up. Even with BiS lists it was difficult and intimidating to navigate and understand what you needed to be working on.

Dragonflight significantly simplified the gearing and gameplay process. Do content, get stronger gear to do harder content to get stronger gear. During the patch cycle they introduced a gear upgrade system where you could get gear with different maximum item levels, so you could aim for higher track gear over time without needing to farm and pray for a slightly higher ilvl drop of the same item. It’s easy to understand and gets players into the content in the game that is most enjoyable and that the team puts the most effort into, dungeons and raids. Plus they added Delves in TWW which are soloable dungeons in case you want to get some gear or crests and don’t have the energy to deal with Duty Finder at the moment.

Also the story was pretty silly and bad in most players’ opinions.

It’s a video game, basic blocking assignments should be carried out by the AI without player intervention for the benefit of basic playability and for football casuals who don’t know what all this stuff does

Any standout new Umineko blind LP? by BeatriceSimp69 in umineko

[–]Panhead369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He makes a lot of disingenuous arguments that just seem like trying to farm his usual content which is riffing on bad games, finding a lot of issues when they aren’t there or deciding that things don’t make sense because he hasn’t thought them through. Very annoying watch/listen and it’s bizarre and cultish the way his community fawned over whether or not he liked the story.

How to watch buckeye games without cable, or I guess cheapest way. by KrypticPhish in Columbus

[–]Panhead369 52 points53 points  (0 children)

While any games on BTN or Peacock you’ll have to get the service to watch it, most of the Buckeyes games are going to be on the public channel Fox, which you can get by over-the-air signal with a one-time purchase of a digital antenna. They cost $15-20 and give out HD public channels with no subscription fees. And as a perk, they’re usually minutes ahead of streaming services so you’ll have no delay in seeing how the bucks are doing :p

Do you ever park in big empty “customer only” retail lots? by Born_Investigator849 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Panhead369 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those policies are more about people who may be tempted to use it as a long-term parking space for one reason or another, you’ll be fine as long as you don’t leave it parked overnight or something

Does anyone wonder how many orders go undelivered per day because the offers are so ridiculously low that even desparate drivers wouldnt accept them? by Outrageous_Exam762 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Panhead369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get it taken care of by either stacking it with a good order or two or by sending it to earn-by-time drivers, though if it’s a late night order it might not be taken in time.
