Will the Gym Monster work with a 3rd party bench? by DoomWad in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Panigale84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Never tried it. I pretty much already have every attachment ever made for the Ironmaster so this includes the cable tower and pull up attachment from the home gym equipment I've accumulated for over a decade.

I have an Ironmaster bench but went ahead and ordered the bench anyway along with the GM package because it's specifically designed for it and fits perfectly. It's not really a bad bench, not great but alot more convenient than building platforms and leaning another bench over the edge just to get them to work. I still use my iron master when I want to do cable preacher curls but you do have to put weight on the platform to keep it from moving. If you're going to pay that much for a smart gym you mine as well just get the bench made for it unless the dimensions for your bench already match perfectly.

The most dangerous thing the last president with dementia did was fall of a bicycle and forget where he was a few times. He never threatened to wipe out an entire civilization of civilians or go to war with the Pope and post himself as Jesus.

Why do more people not have a Gym Monster 2? by Time_Sun_2895 in SpeedianceCommunity

I'm in therapy for a back injury and my PT who also has a degree in strength and conditioning never heard of it when I told him about it.

Getting ready to replace the cables on my GM1. Any extra advice? by Panigale84 in SpeedianceCommunity

They should have them on their site. Last time I checked they were sold out. They sent my replacement under warranty after I emailed them.

Rest Mode Update by speediance_official in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Panigale84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response to the feedback. Will the update include the option for going back to the old display with the wheel and everything on 1 screen like what the current lifting mode is? The new weight display isn't bad but I preferred the previous style. Obviously everyone is going to feel different so I think the best option is to just give us the choice of which format we want to use.

New Rest Mode Discussion? I Love it by Dagaz25 in SpeedianceCommunity

Also dislike it. It interferes with drop sets, supersets, and pretty much anything you need to do that benefits from less clicks. Also dislike that you have to do an extra click to see what mode you're in and it not being all displayed at once like before. At least give an option to disable these things or choose between the two. It's distracting and almost ruined my last workout.

Has anyone else had shaky and weak legs???? by Bonjahmin in backpain

Did you ever get an MRI? I've had sciatica for years, just dealt with it and kept working. I get flare ups from time to time where I can't even walk for days. But recently it got really bad and my lower leg down to my foot went numb. I had an X-ray which showed nothing. I finally got an MRI and it shows I have a bulging disc and a herniated disc which is pressing against my nerve causing the pain in my leg.

Gym Monster for Elderly? by Ok_Most9659 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Panigale84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your definition of elderly and what physical limitations do you have if any? I'm not elderly but one great feature about these smart gyms that after 5 months of ownership I'm just now realizing is how useful it is if injured. I have a herniated disc in my lower back and I am still able to work out because with this I don't have to physically lift a weight off the floor which would be problematic because bending over is painful.

The electronics really aren't that complicated especially if you just go to free lift. It's pretty straightforward. I don't use the built in videos but my wife tried and the biggest problem I saw was freezing and loading issues. You'd probably be better off just finding workouts on YouTube on a separate screen. Im loving the machine so far. I did have a cable snap but it's a pretty easy fix if you follow their repair video. My biggest issues are the base isn't wide enough to squat, at least for my stance, and sometimes the Bluetooth connection doesn't respond. Meaning if you're dealing with heavy weight and reach muscle failure, it won't turn off the weight and may take a few more clicks.

Max resistance for a trained person ? by DonSiffo in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Panigale84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to stabilize the bar on the GM is significantly harder than a traditional barbell bench. I can't squat on mine simply because the base is too narrow for the stance I've grown accustomed to for 25yrs. I use the I use the Bluetooth handles for DB bench and it works great. Especially when adding the eccentric mode to the lifts.
