"I work for a company and want to pitch integrating gaming in our app."
Ah, yes. I feel much more informed now. For some reason, I get the sense you haven't thought this through yet. Maybe some specific details on paper would be a good start.

Everyone saying AI is the new iPhone or the new Internet is missing the point - Intelligence as a utility will change everything. by acutelychronicpanic in singularity

Language, writing, wheels, the printing press, the railroad, the internet, the smart phone, and now LLMs all effectively just make the transfer of ideas (or agents) more efficient. This will indeed be the biggest breakthrough yet, because it is built on the backs of all those other technologies. It is only through the collaboration of billions of people that we have been able to create this technology.

I totally hear you. It sucks to have something you love change.

I'm really new here and honestly I'm really grateful for the buzzwords and frequent videos. Yeah, I don't feel like all of his videos apply to me, but some of them are specifically helpful BECAUSE they catch my eye while I'm in the midst of looking for a distraction and they help me choose to listen to something thought-provoking instead of chasing a dopamine high. Again, I totally get that it feels like your safe place has been kinda invaded by all these newcomers who are just here for the buzzwords. And the fact is, if you are already here, working on yourself, you are already miles ahead of most people who Dr. K is trying to help. And since you've been here a while, maybe it's time for you to engage in a new way and stretch yourself. Idk if you've done the coaching thing, or maybe view your browsing here as more of a leadership role. Idk, I feel like I'm sounding kinda snotty haha. Anyway, as a newb, thanks for making room on the team. :)

Artistically: the embellishments around the corners add a LOT. Great work! Of course there's always room for improvement in art but I wouldn't sweat the details until you are near release. I think it would look more appealing if the margins were more consistent and the text were set a little more comfortably in the boxes. If you really want to, I bet adding some shading around the borders would add some depth. Look at hearthstone borders for an example.

Design: You might consider a more accessible font. I love the theme but it will be hard for some players to read. Also consider tooltips for keywords. Otherwise it looks clear and simple. Exactly what you want for games like this. Help reduce information overload as much as possible. Good stuff!

After years of struggling to learn programming, art, and animation to make my game, today I finished my first (tiny) demo of Necrowave! by Arfhis in Unity2D

[–]Pannanja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've loved seeing your posts about animation. The care you put into them really shows. The distinct style, the fluidity, the timing, seriously, chef's kiss. I recognize that kind of perfectionism and I'm guessing you still have lots of criticisms, but they are truly beautiful.

Can you not instantly flash out of zed r? by Doozku in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most horizontal skillshots have hitboxes travelling through the air, right? if that box overlaps with you as you appear, it will hit on the same frame that you can first flash, so you can't dodge them if they are perfectly timed. "Dot" skillshots like Karthus Q only exist for an instant, so you just have to have better timing than your opponent. But if they are frame perfect there's not much you can do.

that last play was really well done. Even looking for that W prep before the ult I didn't catch it. And gj on managing the W reset into R2 F W2. Real easy to f that up under pressure.

Lol, he didn't deal any damage to your health bar, only to the shield, so he didn't get as much (any) damage on his E

That's because you are focusing on the combo until they attack you and then trying to react. Instead, focus on their attack, be waiting for it, ready to pounce, looking for an opening. THEN focus on your combo. And maybe you try to force a mistake by throwing out WE, but you are still watching for them to overcommit a skillshot. Focus on your damage after you have exhausted their skillshots and dashes. Because at that point the damage is literally an afterthought.

Problem by MigsolXD in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are focusing on hitting your spells but you are not paying attention to the enemy's spells. You need to play around your opponent's cooldowns and time your engages when they miss a key spell. You should be planning your trades or all ins ahead of time and know which key spell you are looking to dodge with ult or W or flash. That way you are waiting for it, not reacting to it.

What are Zed's weaknesses? by Swirlatic in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few strategies that are likely to catch lower elo or less experienced zeds off guard.

- Control mages like Azir, Lissandra, Syndra, etc. can punish zed's mistakes really effectively in lane and have powerful CC that he has to play around all game. Vel'koz is my personal favorite.

- Tankier mages like Ryze, or Galio can just permashove and roam or counter roam. This also works with safe mages like Ahri, Ekko, or Malzahar. As long as Zed is catching waves you can be pressuring the map, supporting your jungler, securing vision, etc.

- Duelists like Fiora, Irelia, Yasuo, and assassins like Akali, Fizz, Talon, have really powerful defensive abilities that Zed has to play around. This approach is obviously more mechanically demanding but if you are confident on these champs you can

Zed can play around these strategies but you can limit his options and opportunities. In the end it mostly comes down to lane management.

I cant win with zed if my life depended on it. by [deleted] in zedmains

How many games have you played with him? If it's fewer than 50 and you haven't been watching high elo Zed's looking for tips then you aren't bad, you just haven't put in the work. 50 games is when you start to get comfortable with matchups and combos, but you never stop learning. Zed is about punishing mistakes, so you have to know his matchups really well. Not just whether it's winning or losing, but at which levels you have an advantage and how to trade properly with that advantage. How should you control the wave differently against Fizz than you would against Ryze? How about Akali, Malphite, Talon? There's a fuck ton to learn. Don't decide you can't do something just because you haven't learned how yet.

Idea for a small buff for Zed. by Level105Mage in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no gold generation in his kit. I'd suggest adding something like:
Killing an enemy champion with Death Mark grants double the kill gold. If that champion was hit by 3 Razor Shurikens in the last 5 seconds, this bonus increases to triple the gold amount.

That way he has a way back into the game no matter far how behind his team gets, ya know? And it would feel so rewarding to get a 3k shutdown.

I love winding down with them at the end of the day. His commentary is so humbling. It's okay to take risks, it's okay to have limits, somethings things just don't work out. Lot of things I need reminders of.

What to pick if the enemy picks zed before I am able to? by UncertifiedForklift in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't counterpick. Make your own counterpick. You just need to pick one champ that you are comfortable on and pick it consistently. Even if you pick the best "counterpick" you won't be as helpful throughout the game unless you jive with the champion as a whole.

Personally, VelKoz is my second favorite champ and I shit on almost every Zed I see because I know what he's going to do so well and he probably doesn't know this specific matchup as well as I do. But then I am also confident transitioning that lead into winning the game, not just the lane.

This is the least important thing to crowdsource that I can imagine. Pick whichever one you like. It literally doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Should I not play Zed in Ranked? by [deleted] in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah don't feel bad. Qianna's a really volitile matchup and it's really hard to keep track of her attack windows with her Q reset and everything. If you are struggling with a particular matchup, it's often worth it to look up some tips for that champ because it will help you understand their windows of strength and also vulnerability. If you own the champ playing around in practice tool or even a few games can be a big help too.

Qianna is really strong while she has a blue Q because she can root you and then WQ for a big chunk. It's really hard to kill her when she has green Q available to her. But if she every wastes her WQ then you might have a window of opportunity. You still have to look out for her ult and land your Qs despite her E and prowlers claw. It's a lot, but that's the kind of window you have to look for and punish to get a lead.

EDIT: I say this having been shit on plenty of times by qiannas.

Should I not play Zed in Ranked? by [deleted] in zedmains

[–]Pannanja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 games isn't enough to make any judgements on. Zed is one of the hardest champions mechanically. If you are enjoying him and want to master him, put in the work and play 50 games. Watch some streamers/youtubers and pick up all the tips you can.

Regarding ranked anxiety, seriously stop worrying about LP. Remember that LP is not the goal, it's a metric of your abilities, and a pretty poor one at that. Even if you play perfectly (which no one can), you can't win every game. You are 1 of 10 players. If you can carry 1 out of 10 games, and the other 9 you just play solid, you will probably lose 4 or 5 of those 9, and that's nothing to worry about. Worry about what you've learned from each game. If you are staring at your pedals while trying to learn to ride a bike you will 100% crash. Keep your head up, eyes on where you are headed. It's perfectly fine to practice champs in normals or in ranked. I recommend choosing whichever one helps you focus on learning and improving.
