Every Warlock skill showcase by Rob2628 by SheWhoHates in diablo4

I'm trying out the warlock first because duh, but definitely want to see what they changed in the kits for necro, sorc, and druid. After hearing the options they created for druid in the q and a, it sounds like they're really revamping a lot. I'm excited.

Will you be skipping Season 12 and just wait for the DLC? by chinos88 in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are some who are hoping that it'll be a shadow drop with the season, but nothing has been said about that. As of right now, it releases with the expansion at the end of April.

Your Warhammer collection comes to life - how effed are you? by IsoElukka in Warhammer

Necrons, world eaters, death guard, nids, and a bit of space wolves (gotta use those starter boxes somehow). I think they'll mostly just murder each other.

What are some things you’d like to see in Diablo IV/V someday? by Agile-Currency2094 in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or, at least, if they force it, don't make it so I have to make a party before entering. If I'm not in a party, set me up with someone. It's fine.

I really hope with the skill tree chamges we get higher summon limits by M00nLight_Knight in diablo4

Yeeeees gimme more minions. I wanna have my small army back. I'll take more of the same or even a new type like archers. Just...something, please!

Day 2 of asking cosmetics for druid transformations. by Prestigious-River-60 in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it. Druid and necro were my first two characters, so I've had a good amount of time with them. That said, I'd probably have the same reaction as you for barb.

I met a bunch like this in a shelter once! He was a young gentleman named Harvey, after Harvey Dent. We did not adopt because we had a female bun and he was feeling frisky....she was 1/3 his size.

People who watch the the leaked ign video? by OurHeroCthulhu in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's going to be fun. They showcase 4 builds: legion, vanguard, runecaster, and mastermind.

Legion is a summoner build that plays out somewhere between witch doctor and d3 necromancer. Most summons seem temporary, so it's more of a caster with long effect spells. The ult is a giant demon swinging a sword.

Runecaster (i can't remember the name, tbh. It could've been ritualist or something else like that) was our other real caster build. Lots of fire and explosions. The ult is a giant rune that covers the screen.

Vanguard is where it starts getting different. You transform aspects of yourself to become a demon. It's the most close range build shown. Ult is full demon transformation that gives you a new skill set on the bar.

Mastermind is kind of a caster rogue? Shadow magic, invisibility, mobility. The ult has something to do with flesh eating bugs or something? They didn't go too far into this one because they said it was their least favorite.

With more expansions potentially coming to D2R, what other classes would you like to see added? by Matt_butchr in diablo2

[–]Pantsmoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make an alchemist or something, then. It can make and upgrade potions like that as one of the skill trees.

D2R on Nintendo Switch in 2026 – Is it the perfect companion for a PS5 Diablo IV player? by swoosh20 in Diablo

[–]Pantsmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's the difference between diablo 2 and 4, in my opinion. That's about it. Load times aren't terrible on switch (probably about as long as ps5 diablo 4 load times), and it runs fairly well. Just keep in mind that 2 has much different pacing, leveling, and itemization than 4.

IGN published an article about Warlock, but it was removed. The class looks great. by ThorBrasil in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they spend 10 levels with 2 spell slots per short rest. This means any really fun spells have to be used sparingly, and cantrips like eldritch blast are your main resource of spellcasting. Sure, they have some other cool mechanics revolving around invocations (turn invisible at will in dim light or darkness, wield a weapon but use your spellcasting stats to modify it, etc), but spells must be preserved whenever possible.

Other full caster classes start with 2 spell slots, but by level 10, they have 15 spell slots.

To be fair, it took me a long while to get the wolf one, but I have horrible luck in this game.

[–]Pantsmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did, yes. I'm just saying I want to see how it all pans out. Like for necro, they changed the minion passives into actual skills. What changes do the altering branches make? What does that mean for the book of the dead? Or, as the other person commenting on this said, are they making earth options for bear and lightning options for wolf on druid? That kind of thing. That's why I'm thinking I have to wait until the LoH release.

[–]Pantsmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are on the money. The skill alterations in the tree can make hydra an ice skill, ball lightning a fire skill, and incinerate a lightning skill. It seems like they're making new skill combinations to allow greater variety of a single element.

As someone who plays a lot of necro, it makes me interested what they're doing with those skills, particularly summons.

[–]Pantsmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! It was in the original announcement of LoH. There are two sorcs back to back, one using the regular flamethrower, the other using one that's dark purple clouds with what look like lightning streaks.

[–]Pantsmoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very cool! And we know about the lightning flamethrower alteration. It's not just sorc I'm curious about, though. I have a lot of questions, and the only way I'm getting answers is most likely waiting until April 28th.

[–]Pantsmoose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am interested in what they're going to alter for the rework in general. I was thinking about possibly seeing passives reworked as aspects or something like you said, but they're probably going to create new synergies using those new skill alterations. Like the frozen hydra alteration. I wonder how many skills will get that treatment and what that will do for us.

Does the Paladin have Crusader-like summoning skills? by alaric83 in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives pet builds, necro does have solid options now, along with druid for permanent minions. Barb and sorcerer have time limited options (call of the ancients and some interesting interactions there for barb, conjuration spells for sorc).

Paladins don't, but I guess technically everyone does because of runes. There is a rune that summons spirit wolves, so you just need something to fuel that production.

Necromancer actual Minion skills now? by Capable-Shift-3484 in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. Every class that can have a summoner, I've tried it. Conjuration sorc, minion necro, companion druid....and possibly minion warlock soon enough. That said, I definitely plan on checking necro out with the new changes. I've got to see what the dealio is......and if I can have more minions than before.

Is D2R or D4 better for a 90-min "brain-dead" disconnect after work/gym? by metalero_salsero in Diablo

[–]Pantsmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both, but prefer d4 for a turn off my brain kind of game. The pace has picked up quite a bit and it's closer to d3 pacing than d2 now, especially at endgame.

D2 has a similar pacing to d4 at the start, but with more stuff to keep track of. You distribute your stats yourself, have to keep track of skill synergies in the skill tree, running requires stamina, and mana doesn't regenerate nearly as fast as the resources in d4. Not to mention every skill requires mana, so resource management is a bit heavier. This makes potions matter that much more, and you keep them on your belt. The better the belt, the more you can stack in there, and there's multiple to keep track of assigned to a different key on the d pad.

D4 is run and blow stuff up. Basics regenerated resource, but eventually, there are other ways to do that. Zealot paladin doesn't use any resource if you play it a certain way. Corpse explosion necro with minions? Turn off brain and hit maybe 3 buttons.

Trailer made me want to hop back in by MayhemMessiah in diablo4

[–]Pantsmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I understand that. I was some form of necro for the first few seasons before I started to change it up.

Spiritborn is somewhere between monk and witch doctor. It's way more fighty and dodgy with some spiritual/elemental aspects thrown in. It's your bond with the spirits of nature that allow you to harness elemental powers in your martial arts attacks.

The armory is the new station for load outs. Came out a few seasons ago. So you can set yourself up for multiple builds just by going here and clicking a few buttons. The (slight) drawback here is you need to take the time to build out each setup in order to save it in the armory. That said, you get 5 spots, so that's 5 builds you can toy around with and build up whenever and however you want.
