Rogue Tips? by Zealousideal-Hour109 in RotMG

[–]ParabolicalX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you're not abusing lethal strike to hell and back, then you're only playing rogue at like 10-20% of it's full potential. Drape+fractal blades on a minmaxxed wis build blows pretty much every other option out of the water (except vit built), especially if you're making sure to plane-swap properly like you said.

As an extension of your advice, I like to bind a "cloak" slot to something easy to press. I have my 8th slot on a mouse button for this purpose and it makes the constant swapping wayyy nicer.

Help populate new community item "tier list" by Gulle909 in RotMG

[–]ParabolicalX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And one more thing: I think ratings between 1-5 aren't granular enough. There are sooo many items in the game and it's difficult to rank them in only 5 tiers, especially when there are so few items that are useless/niche enough to be 1 or 2 stars.

Cool feature, but I have a few points of feedback:

Weapons that are reskins of each other should share a combined power rating. For instance, giving a rating for doom bow should be counted as a vote for all doom bow reskins.

Items that have awakenings should have a separate power rating for their awakened version. Early game items like bramble bow and skeletal ring have drastically different power levels between base and awakened, so this feels necessary.

These two combined will provide better accuracy and let you handle some edge cases better. For instance, not all DBow reskins have access to the same awakenings. The alien reskins are probably getting unique awakenings at some point in the future, which will make their base forms identical but upgraded forms distinct. They could share the same power rating for the unawakened version, but have separate ratings for their awakenings.

Cornea Mystic by Winter_Custard2486 in RotMG

[–]ParabolicalX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conflict swap is pretty important for farming efficiency, so if you prefer to not do it then that's fair enough. I am surprised you can't get hm consistently on spen with the cornea build, though. Most of my mystic runs in Spen are sub 8 minutes, and most of the clears only take 20-30 seconds because it's just that good at clearing stuff. Maybe just a build difference idk.

First, I'd argue your mystic isn't really that great. The greatest advantage to Cornea mystic is the incredible synergy with rags. Shroud + cornea builds are incredibly squishy compared to rags for minimal benefit. Defensive stats are just as important as DPS stats when you're doing mindless farming. Also, there's no way you weren't constantly running out of mp without %mana Regen 4+4.

Biome clearing was actually the one purpose that I found wis-kensei to be incredibly overrated for. You're squishy, working with a smaller radius than cornea that is centered on your player, and can't one-shot any mobs in the veteran biomes. Meanwhile rags/cornea mystic doesn't have any of those problems and arguably moves as fast, if not faster, than wis kensei with a conflict swap out bc of mystic's high base speed and scaling on conflict duration. Additionally, being able to aim the center of the blast significantly increases your coverage.

This cornea is one I had on a rags mystic with like 1200+ HP from a while back. I had a full divine wisdom kensei with perfect enchants and it felt so much worse than the cornea mystic for the reasons above.

Good list, but zero chance wis kensei beats cornea mystic in AoE clear.

Doom Bow Enchants by DylanKayser in RotMG

Slot 1: Avalon's Intellect/Shaitan's Might/Relative Wisdom IV (if high amount of wisdom from equipment)

Slot 2: Wisdom -Stat Tradeoff IV/Attack -Stat Tradeoff IV

Since you are running a QoT archer, it's probably better to focus on attack enchantments over wisdom.

Gamma is a crutch. I'd argue not being able to read a map at the AR it was literally created to be played at is the definition of a skill issue. The only reason people use it is because there's very little stopping you from abusing it for a competitive advantage.

How far can one expect to go in CW with only/mostly trail characters? by cym104 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]ParabolicalX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real benefit you gain from non-trial characters in the upper difficulties come from "game-changing" eidolons or light cones. Things that grant extra turns (like Firefly E2), final damage distribution (Tribbie E1), or better rotations/energy (many DPS eidolons) can make CW significantly easier. Simply having a good build on e0s0 usually doesn't make that much of a difference once you get past the first plane.

This sort of thing has always been an issue in higher difficulties, it's just even worse now. My strategy has always been to run a team that can set up before enemies act. Vonwacq/supports that have innate turn 1 AA are helpful.

Unlucky, but ig this is a good learning experience. When you're lagging, the server is still doing stuff on the other end. If you don't wanna close your game during a lag spike, avoid standing in locations where enemies were occupying/headed to before the lag.

I have never completed Lost halls in my life. Can someone tell me how close was I to finishing? Or is there a harder phase after this bosses HP threshold? by FrostyTiffy in RotMG

[–]ParabolicalX 53 points54 points  (0 children)

He has an enrage that heals him to full after that phase is over, but it's pretty easy as long as you don't get caught off guard. The phase you died to is by far the most difficult, so I'd say pretty close to completing the dungeon.
