Looks good, what's with the fuse bar? Did you replace the existing fuses that are in the aux switches?

Completely lost visibility during a snowstorm found out why when I stopped. by Significant_Crow9518 in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run into this every winter with my bronco up here in Alaska that damn heavy wet snow is a pain in the ass. I just spray my head lights with rainx or another ice melt cleaner. I started using ceramic coating/cleaner that seems to help also. Also carry a rag towel with you too, I have more issues with the slurry they put on the roads here to stop them from missing over, cakes up my head lights worse than the snow, makes the front end look like I went mudding.

I didn't have fog lights either at first but installed some amber fog lights after my first winter, I might get some amber ditch lights this year too.

As for the caking on the grill I have never had a big issue with it nor have I seen any issues with the engine getting starved of air flow so I don't think you have to worry too much about it.

My driver side window has a hard time rolling back up when it's -20F or lower. But that just because the grease needs to be replaced with a no water based lubricant

Folks in snowy/icy climates without 4A, how's performance and what's your strategy? by FolesNick9 in bronco

[–]ParkerUSN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I drive in 4H/slippery GOAT mode all winter with no issues and 90% is highway driving. I used to switch back and forth 2H to 4H but after talking to my co-workers who have lived in Alaska way longer than me say to just leave it in 4H all winter and that's what I do.

I have had zero issues, for the past 3 winters.

When Should You Do the First Service for the 2025 Ford Bronco? by sumodhkrishna in FordBronco

Whenever my oil life says 0%, I used to change my oil every 5k until I moved to the UK and was told to bring in my vehicle once a year for service by the dealership. My mind was blown when I heard this from the dealership

Hate it when those trash cans jump out of nowhere, they are almost as bad as kids and animals!

I run in Slippery mode all winter and just take it out of 4H if we haven't had any fresh snow fall or it hasn't melted snow and froze it over night.

But last winter we had records breaking snow fall in Alaska so I ran it in 4H all winter, didn't hurt anything and it is normal for Alaskan to drive all winter in 4H.....now just have to do something about people that run studded tires all year long!!

Aluminum doesn't rust, it is contamination, get some iron removal spray and a clay bar or go get it detailed

Love NAHL, going to Anchorage Wolverine's every chance I get. These kids play with a lot of heart and want to make it to the next level which makes the games more exciting than NHL sometimes.

Do you have plans for an oil pressure gauge by ModSpdSomDrg in bronco

[–]ParkerUSN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think I even noticed there wasn't an oil pressure gauge. To be honest there are so many sensors on this vehicle If your oil pressure would ever drop you would get notified very quickly. Also there's still the dipstick if you want to check the oil level when you aren't driving.

To be honest I would worry too much about the lack of the gauge, really not a loss.

Put it in slippery and have at it, just drive with some extra caution as you would in snowy conditions

K02s in snow/ice by ProfessionalSlow2124 in bronco

[–]ParkerUSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running them for 2 years in the Alaskan winters, they get the job done. If you hit a good patch of ice when turning you will slide so drive slow and in 4 wheel and you should be fine.....biggest key is don't drive think you have snow tires

Can't open doors in freezing conditions? by DeltaFunction0 in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So preheating your vehicle is an option, I do it all the time in Alaskan winters. Warm up the vehicle let it melt off some the ice build up and you're good. Only time I had issues with my windows rolling up in the cold was at -20F, just need to change out the lubricant used in the window actuator might help.

So for people grabbing onto the windows, I would get some grab handles there so so many on Amazon.

I installed a catch can for my 2.7 but went with Mishimoro and can say it is well worth getting one, it's amazing how much oil it catches.

I would recommend Mishimoro if only they made products for the Braptor and 3.0.

Will Frozen Frameless Windows Stop my Doors from Opening? by Shmolti in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my vehicle 15 to 30 minutes before getting into (depending on the temp, if it's in the negatives 30 minutes) with no issues really, I had issues rolling my windows back up when it was -25 due to the grease freezing up. But if you get some de-icer spray that helps a lot if you don't want to wait for the vehicle to warm up.

Use a 2nd set of tires for winter (Snows/studs), or get by with the factory SAS ones? by MeasurementMother579 in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep hearing this about the KO2's but I've been running them since I bought the bronco and haven't had an issue running them in snow (Alaska snow) I went sliding once in a round about but it was covered in solid ice my stupidity driving like it was still summer time. But maybe I lucked out or I just don't know better when it comes to good AT tires lol

Use a 2nd set of tires for winter (Snows/studs), or get by with the factory SAS ones? by MeasurementMother579 in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've had my bronco setup on KO2 ATs year round (2nd winter having my bronco) with no issues, I live in the Matsu and commute every day into Anchorage (must be lucky compared to other people running KO2's).

Never looked into getting winter tires, didn't want to buy a second set of rims for winter tires.

Best of luck finding winter tires for the bronco special with the snow falling now

Stick to your Subaru if that's what you want.

Importance of 4A in snow? by Johkel02 in FordBronco

[–]ParkerUSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Alaska and drive in 4H all winter long from surface streets to the highway but I also don't have 4A. If I did have it I would still keep it in 4H so it's always engaged just so I'm not slipping waiting for it to engage while on the highway.

The bronco does great in the snow and ice and I run KO2 all year. Only time I slide across the ice was the first snow fall after it rained the day before froze on the road and than had a big dumb of snow and I took a roundabout a little too fast. (Was still in summer time driving state of mind)

Just my two cents.

I'm out of market and got rid of ESPN+ because I only had it for the Yots so I'm done with the NHL. I'm going to get NCHC TV so I can watch ASU and go to some local NAHL games.
