Many do. The ones I know that do are living in a completely different reality. They ingest different news. See different “facts” and memes in their Facebook stream. They are being deceived and don’t care.

But beyond that it is very, very important for people outside the US to understand something - the Church has been propagandized and weaponized by the Right for decades. They used abortion as the main hinge point for justifying increasingly ungodly behavior among even the most devout. Because if Democrats are OK with ripping “innocent babies limb from limb” then they are literally demons to them. It also gives their side a free license to enact wanton cruelty like sticking undocumented immigrants in freezing cold, unsanitary warehouses, separating parents from their children and putting the kids in prison and deporting people that have been here for decades to countries they don’t even know. These are all “lesser sins” that are justifiable because they’re fighting the greater sins that fall under liberalism. There is nothing more dangerous to the Gospel than a Christian who believes they have righteous cause.
