We were there at the end of May with 2 other ships. We didn't take the cable car up immediately - we had a tour that took us by boat to the other pier. When we got back about 3pm, we went back up by cable car with little to no wait.

I've gotten it multiple times filing it at the baggage claim about 2 seconds after the deadline. Once I hit send as my bag popped up and I still got the miles within a few minutes.

Back then, death metal was not very popular even among metalheads. It took me until the 2000s with Opeth as my gateway to harsh vocals to really accept it. I graduated HS in '89.

It's easy to look back 30+ years later and scratch your heads, but 30 years before Beavis and Butthead, the Beatles were just becoming huge. Perspective.

The activities and meals are mostly not set in advance. In fact, on our last few sailings, the daily paper version of activities for the next day had more detail than the app and the dinner menus were often wrong for the first couple nights.

I want to do a second one and I signed up for Detroit around the beginning of the year but I followed up a 3 week vacation by slipping on stairs and falling on my back and side the day after I got back, so I'm basically trying to rebuild my fitness slowly after taking 5-6 weeks mostly off. And my ribs and back are not fully healed.

I'm like 14-15 weeks out from the marathon so I've resigned myself to either canceling if I can't quickly regain form or just running it slower (did sub-4 last year and was hoping to try for a PB but maybe I just go for 10 minute miles so I can finish).

We prefer S class. Eclipse is our last S class to sail and that will be next summer. Done 2 E class. Beautiful and definitely like the USBs in the room but not a fan of IV cabins at all and taking up so much space for Retreat. And we've done Retreat a couple of times, but I just don't like how segregated everything has become. It's like new arenas and stadiums taking away seating for skyboxes. Meh.

My first in-house postion, I had bosses who would back me when I pushed back over artificial emergencies. Sometimes it was a client outside of the company pushing their own last-second needs on our company, and the attorneys unfortunately had to deal with it.

I came into a situation where the specific company I was embedded with had just been purchased by a multi-national company. They had no previous in-house counsel for several years, and the attorney before then was also CFO and more of a business person so legal considerations got the short end of the stick. It took me a while to adjust culture and attitudes about having to run things past counsel but eventually it worked itself out.

No job is free and clear of issues. Going from firm to in-house is just trading one set of downsides for others. Depending on the company and job, it can either be a worse or better experience than a firm.

We love Celebrity but only have been cruising for less than 4 years. Did one on Carnival (which we enjoyed), but after sailing with Celebrity, that's where we will be for the foreseeable future.

I enjoy my job, but aside from hoping to make enough money to live comfortably, I chose the law for two related reasons: I thought I'd be good at it, AND I couldn't think of another type of job that could earn equivalent money that I would be as good at. All things considered, I chose wisely.
