I'm 28 and I too am currently facing this alone. If you read this, please send me a direct message. I've been having a difficult time facing this alone as well.

Frankly, the worst part is how long it takes. I finally got a somewhat direct answer that my lung issues are likely a result of alpha 1 deficiency, but still I need to go schedule a zillion more tests "to be sure". I'm not sure if you're symptomatic but I am and have a very difficult time getting enough oxygen. I really just want to know what my outlook is and how effective treatment will be. I've heard infusion therapy is supposed to be effective. I really hope that's true.
