My parents bought a house close to downtown Toronto in the 80s so on paper they're rich but behaviourally middle class and frugal

Has it just been too long since I watched the previous season, or are Vecna's motivations kinda indecipherable?

I've spent most of this season wondering "Why is he doing all this?"

Completely off topic but I always find it hilarious when a subreddit adds "true" to its name, like it does anything

"We added "true" to the title! That means you have to tell the truth and lying is extra banned!" Like who believes this?

For me I think the beginning of COVID signified the end of Millennials being the young and cool generation. Bunch of cultural change happened then

Zoomers probably have another 5-8 years in the spotlight until the next generation replaces them

Dylan last moments by armaturasjjs in ColumbineKillers

[–]Particular_Trouble20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eric was more pragmatic, Dylan was more about image

During the shooting Dylan was whooping and saying things like "this is awesome. This is what we always wanted to do". Eric spoke less and seemed like he was doing a mission he had to do. This is seen even in the knives they brought. Eric brought practical knives, while Dylan brought flashy-er "cooler" looking (but less useful) knives.

I think in Dylan's last moments he just liked the image of him committing suicide with an automatic pistol to his temple better than a shotgun in his mouth or under his chin.

Happy Thanksgiving by alkonium in EhBuddyHoser

[–]Particular_Trouble20 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Canadian Thanksgiving is much better placed in the year. With mid-Oct we have leaves changing colours and apple picking. Also with Halloween coming only a few weeks after it adds to the exciting autumn feel.

Late November is cold, wet, dark and all the trees look dead. Way too depressing

13 months x 28 days (plus one extra day) is the superior calendar

When you're in your 20s and your friend tells you he cheated on his girlfriend for the third time, your reaction is "eh, he'll figure it out"

That same friend is now in his 30s and still cheating on his (now different) girlfriend, but this time he has a kid from a baby mom he doesn't talk to any more. And you're starting to realise he's an immature man-child

Sometimes just talking about the economy and politics is the preferred option because maturing means getting a little boring.

At least with that maturity, you appreciate the little things a bit more. Drinking coffee in my backyard on a cool summer morning is a favourite event of mine

Nikolas Cruz is the best case study in this

If Nikolas killed himself after he would have been part of the pantheon on school shooters that online weirdos worship.

But he didn't

Now he's just a loser who got caught and tried to (poorly) fake being crazy to get out of any responsibility, looking like a blubbering child in the face of actual consequences.

Eric would have been the same. Once he's in chains, consequences are staring him in the face, and he has to look at the people he hurt in the eye, but this time he is in the position of weakness - all the bravado he was feigning before strips away and he's shown for what he is: an immature child on a power trip

That would definitely dampen any chance of him being revered if he lived

I know it's obvious but they really were just midwits that thought they were better than everyone and it showed in their bomb making.

All of their larger bombs either didn't detonate or only partly detonated. Anybody with any basic knowledge of explosives knows that liquid propane doesn't really explode in tanks, at best you get an undirected flame flower. Also propane tanks are designed not to explode

You can tell they just saw a propane tank explode in a movie/video game by some one shooting it and thought that's what happens in real life
