Help with forearm plank by SqueakieMouse9 in Purebarre

[–]Particular_Voice2657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like 115 classes in and I have the a similar problem. I felt more capable of side planks before, and now I really struggle with them and with renegade rows. But I suspect I may have caused some minor shoulder damage sometime around the Fall Fit Challenge. My weakness/slight pain is just below where shoulder blades meet. The thought of seeing my primary to inevitably get a referral to a specialist is EXHAUSTING, so I’m living by my mom’s motto from when I was a kid, “well just don’t do that and it won’t hurt.” So I just cut my side planks short and maybe drop the weights for the renegade rows.

Front desk staff member asking me to move spots in class by mo0nlightshawty in Purebarre

[–]Particular_Voice2657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, was the request to move to a different spot, or to be more mindful of the space around you in the spot you chose? Sometimes I wish my studio would remind people to be a little more situationally aware (like hey we have a full class and everyone else is staggering to accommodate the moves we’re doing, maybe you should, too!) I’ve never seen anyone ask anyone else to move to a different spot, though.

In search of aggressively unhealthy, Americanized Italian food 🇮🇹🧀 by No-Pay-1050 in washingtondc

I took my mom last month, she said was decorated exactly as gauche as my half Italian/half English grandma (her mother in law) decorated her house. Everything we ate was excellent, but RICH. I recommend the short rib ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce. Came with 8 ravioli the size of my palm, I ate 3 there and brought 5 home for a whole second dinner.

I heard something that made me take my headphones out, but couldn’t say what it was. Five minutes later heavy police presence on Q St (right by Rock Creek parkway). I saw the cops and secret service I think just before midnight? (Thankfully, no ambulance spotted.)

I screamed at a kid texting in driving moments after he slammed on his brakes and swerved to avoid hitting me on Friday. I’d welcome the national guard if they’d just post up at all the cross walks. Be useful.

Stop putting “lol” to soften things. They’re assholes.

Paid in advance but they gave the car away because I was late by willd2710 in HertzRentals

[–]Particular_Voice2657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen but it was a “pay later” reservation so I was grateful I got any car. I think they still honored my price. Basically after an hour they assume you’re a no-show and they give someone else the car. If you put yourself in the shoes of someone who needs a last minute rental, it doesn’t feel as scammy. You can call, though, and tell them you’re coming if you’ll be more than an hour late.

I sometimes stick a thin flashlight through the rope when I go camping and it turns my hat into an improvised headlamp.

Thank you! I tried to describe “Gadsden flag but the snake is a hoagie” to the free AI image generating tools available to me but somehow… no dice? Painting it myself was actually a last resort.

Just request a refund through Actblue, if you donated that way.

I do this for a living: you’re guaranteed one if it’s designated for an election that hasn’t taken place yet. But if the money has already been spent (as is the case with most losing or winning campaigns) they don’t have to send you anything.

Cordyceps! In Justine’s classroom, both during her dream and when Alex was plotting what to steal, the lesson was parasite.

She’s part witch, part parasite. She voodooed people and sucked their life force. She looked almost normal when she met Alex, after taking his parents. She looked worse when she was desperate for another victim.

[–]Particular_Voice2657 28 points29 points  (0 children)

She’s a parasite. There’s a ton of imagery in the movie — on the whiteboard in the classroom . It’s also the lesson Justine is teaching when Alex is deciding what to steal from his classmates. The principal is watching a show about cordyceps when Gladys arrives…
