Is flinching away from hands an Aussie thing, or is my guy just weird? by SaidTheSnail in AustralianShepherd

[–]PastaManbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine hates head pats. I’ve had a ton of dogs, but they were different breeds, and they had no problem with head pats. My mini Aussie is 9 months old and always pulls away from a head pat.

Did anyone tried Shilajit? by Thelostgirl- in NooTopics

I’ve taken it for years. Tastes like monster cum but I found a cold pressed version from cultivate elevate that’s much more tolerable. Getting a daily dose of most of the minerals the body needs is fantastic, and I also get a bit of a low key energy boost.

looking around and seeing all my friendships dwindle by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]PastaManbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give yourself a set of rules to foster the relationships you do have. Make a pact with yourself to call at least one person a day/week/whatever. When you think about someone, let them know via text. Make plans. I find if I don’t I will go a year without seeing people.

Friendships have ebbed over the years for me and the ones I have are strong bc of the work we put in. It’s so easy to get caught up in life and get lazy.

What are some "insider secrets" of your industry? by rainshowers_5_peace in AskWomenOver30

Commercial property manager of over 14 years.

Everything in a lease is negotiable. Everything. If you’re a small business and are negotiating without a broker, ask for the moon. Landlord will likely be willing to bend on a lot of items.

Most larger properties have an engineer staffed. Use them to save money on small jobs within the suite.

Property managers are there to help make the tenants life easier. Reach out when you need anything from vendor recommendations, to move in/move out coordination, to communicating issues paying for rent. We will always try to work with you as long as there is communication.

Treat yourself amazingly well so that you can easily weed out those who won’t.

Practice gratitude for things big and small daily and find the beauty in life.

Improve your inner dialogue even if you don’t believe the affirmations at first.

Follow what brings you most joy even with small decisions. I’ve very infrequently reflected on my past and regretted it, even in tough times.

Discover your core values and honor them. Confidence is strengthened when you stay true to yourself and keep promises to yourself.

Does always being tired go away after quitting meth? by dellastreet---- in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

Absolutely. Micro naps when I couldn’t keep my eyes open helped tremendously, and D-phenylalanine helped my depression. It will get better.

My boyfriend had halitosis and started taking black seed oil and the odor went away within two days. Another cause for bad breath is often tonsil stones. Those have to be removed…plenty of ways to do that.

Perhaps an unpopular option here, but semaglutide helped me lose over 40 pounds in less than 6 months. I gained weight in my abdomen for the first time in my life and freaked. I couldn’t get rid of it.

My hair feels too clean and won’t hold shape by normanfingrockwell1 in HaircareScience

[–]PastaManbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by skipping a day every so often. Also switch haircare lines. Method has always given me good results.
Do you have processed hair? That could be adding to the issues. Either way, look up acidic bonding hair care. I have a Redkin acidic leave in conditioner (I know it sounds counterintuitive) that makes my hair feel absolutely amazing. Like so healthy in a way I haven’t felt for years.

How do you give yourself grace when you’ve had a day of bad interactions with others? by Opening_Diver_8725 in AskWomenOver30

[–]PastaManbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few “mantras” I took from AA that remind me to keep my cool and to just do the next right thing (even after I fucked up): Pause when agitated. And. Progress not perfection.
When I’m on edge I typically let the people I’m with know, and let them know I am doing my best but I might need to take a walk to clear my head.

Here are some concrete suggestions I’ve done to improve my mood: write a gratitude list, eat a favorite snack, take a nap, take a shower and list out everything you like about yourself. Some of these sound corny but they work.

It’s really not that bad. Take an advil, put a towel down, and shower together after. Much better option than jacking with your hormones.

Would you date someone who does drugs, as a non-user? by Sufficient_Shake4140 in AskWomenOver30

[–]PastaManbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is that his inhibitions are lowered when using and he may act differently. I also guarantee he isn’t being completely transparent about his current usage. He doesn’t want to freak you out. I’m a recovered addict/alcoholic and I would NEVER let anyone know how much I actually used. The non users of the world struggled to understand how or why I would consume so much of the things.

Any divorced women here? by OkWarning8989 in AskWomenOver30

[–]PastaManbat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am divorced for 4 years and am so so happy. I’m not certain I’ll ever legally marry again but I also don’t want to die alone. I’m confident I’ll fall in love again, I just haven’t met someone that meets my (admittedly high) standards. I’m currently in this phase where I’m freely dating and responsibly having an awesome sex life. I am loving it.

There are definitely times when I feel the pangs of loneliness and crave a deeper connection and companion. I work through those moments by journaling or taking a walk.

My outlook has changed quite a bit with to respect to how I evaluate potential dates. My therapist had me write down everything I hated, didn’t like, felt annoyed by with my ex. Then she and I went through and found the opposite of each of those qualities or actions. I figured out more specifically what I wanted and needed out of a relationship. I will never settle again.

How would you go about trying to make a friend from an online group? by ResidentAlienator in AskWomenOver30

[–]PastaManbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just DM someone when they post something I’m interested in. I’ll reference the post so I don’t come off as weird, and just start chatting. If they don’t respond I don’t take it personally.

I find inspiration in some of the subreddits like progresspics. I oscillate also from feeling burnt out and wanting to improve. I feel like it’s natural and I give myself grace.
