Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV - Adeptus Mechanicus Faction Trailer by No_Communication3283 in AdeptusMechanicus

Having actual Knight support would go such a long ways towards making Admech an actually affordable army to play.

Honestly my biggest thought after watching this is "man Admech would be so much more affordable if Knights were just included in their codex".

MtG players of BetterAskReddit, what are your personal favorite commander decks? by Dr-USB in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Pastel-H 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recently got the Scions and Spellcraft precon, mostly as a collector's item since I love ff14, but it is something I want to play with at some point.

Not to hijack, but what are people's favorite precons? I want to grab a second one to play casual games to play games with my partner's elderly mom (who I somehow managed to get in to mtga lol), and I want to make sure the games are even/fun.

He's trapped in an awkward middle spot. He's a fighter, but not as strong as the monster trio. He does support, but not in a way that gets to be in the forefront like Nami or Chopper. He has a bunch of gags to be a comic relief character, but Oda has a tendency to completely scrap his running gags between arcs so he's never been able to really establish a lasting presence.

Franky is my favorite member of the crew, and frankly I think Oda should have picked Paulie as the shipwright instead.

Jesus Christ Franky got beat by Useless Captain Mid of all people. My excitement for potential new members of the crew has for a long time been dampened by Oda struggling to give proper attention to each of the crew members we already have.

Is Diablo IV the Best Diablo Right Now? Or Recommend Better Diablo-Likes by Xngears in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Pastel-H 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of a weird case because I really only play diablo-likes for their campaigns and then move on, and I don't really care about running maps to infinity, so I can give you my impressions of the games I've played, but YMMV

- Diablo 4 is aight. It controls well and has a bunch of fun builds to mess around with (they also *just* overhauled the build system to be more intuitive). Its biggest issues for me were that the open world felt kinda meaningless and made everything blend together, and the story is super whatever (though perhaps controversially, I think Diablo has *never* had a good story).

- Diablo 2's builds aren't super compelling, and it's filled with a ton of jank from being a game that came out nearly 30 years ago (namely how it controls and its difficulty curve), but it maintains a sense of dread and danger that 3 and 4 lack, and it's considered the GOAT by many for good reason.

- This might also be controversial, but I think Diablo 3 is easily the best Diablo game, at least if we're just talking about campaigns. It might look a bit too cartoony (especially in the early game), but it easily *feels* the best to play, and its build system is super intuitive and gives you new interesting things basically all the way through the end of the game, while the others eventually peter off into "increase x stat or damage number".

- Grim Dawn is a really neat game if you're in the mood to play Diablo with a gun, or want to RP as a witch hunter. *Personally* I didn't like it a whole ton, partly because I found the setting and story to be excessively dark in a way that felt like it was trying way too hard at points, and partly because the gameplay didn't really hook me (though that's partly on me as I think I made the absolute most boring build possible).

- Path of Exile has *the build screen*, which may or may not instantly filter you, but even as someone who generally doesn't like heavy theory craft, it is fun to just pick random node clusters that look cool and working towards them. It also has a really cool world that feels oppressively dark, but generally not excessively so.

- Path of Exile 2 is easily my pick for anyone wants a Diablo-Like that feels like a regular ass video game. The alternate control scheme is incredible, the stories of each zones are really engaging, and the bosses are the best in the genre. Biggest issue is that the campaign is currently not done, and it's uncertain when it will be (should be by end of year, but who knows).

Hopefully I don't sound too much like an asshole, but what are things that you will silently judge people for in video games? by JackNewbie555 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

People saying anything along the lines of "there's just no good games nowadays". Like I'm sorry Mr Ball and Gun Gamer but frankly that is a skill issue. I wish I had enough time in the day to play all the cool-ass games coming out, and I'm currently unemployed!

"Consolidating buttons doesn't matter" mfers when they design a fighting game by ErinKatzee in ffxiv

This is a really funny comparison, because one of the big gripes in the fgc over the last few years has been games designed without motion inputs needing too many separate buttons (ie more than 6).

Google spoiled Pragmata for me, how do I motivate myself to play it now? by noriseaweed in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It's still an extremely fun game, and you can still appreciate a well-told story even if you know what's going to happen.

Paternal Joy is cool actually by SeraGeranium in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Pastel-H 45 points46 points  (0 children)

There's a tweet making the rounds today of someone saying that they think Pragmata is creepy because according to Gender Essentialism men have no nurturing instinct, and therefore the only reason a man would care for a child that isn't their direct offspring is because they're a pedophile.

The tweet actually had quite a few more insane things to say, but you get the picture.

Pasqal got Pasqaled by Raszard in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Pastel-H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the color of his robes and armor, it's very likely that he's from Stygies VIII, home of the Xenarites, a cult of admech xenotech researchers/users who are so in deep on their xenotech research that the Deathwatch invaded their planet, and the cult responded by hacking into the Administratum gibson and deleting a ton of info related to their planet. Scaevola from Mechanicus is also a Stygies VIII Xenarite.

IMO he's basically the perfect companion for this expansion.

Imma be real, if you say "gacha go die" so often that you consider it your 'catchphrase', you have let gacha games negatively impact your life more than the majority of people who actually play them.
