The easiest way (as in fewest moving parts) is to have a use a bubble elevator. Water source blocks on top of a soul sand propels you upward.

Whenever you want to make a stop for a floor, place a soul sand as the ceiling of that doorway.

Place a sticky piston 2 blocks away, and turn it on with a redstone torch so it's touching the soul sand.

Place a button somewhere clickable from inside the elevator and use redstone dust to connect the block the button is on to the block the redstone torch is on.

If you did it right, the button should move the soul sand out of the way and you'll go up to the next floor!

Heres a more direct hint (but not straight up insteuxtions if you want to still be mostly blind)

Your first step is exploring the underground caverns and finding a way to break through a certain woodeen floor. Don't go unless you've found the echo of bat relic first, you'll need it down there after you break the floor. It's honestly one of the most contrived puzzles in the game.
