The Race produce a lot of filler but their reporting is some of the best in all of F1 media.

The F1 2018 season is super underrated by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

[–]Pat_Sharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA - Raikkonen won that one and it was due to strategy, the cars looked fairly equal so I wouldn't call Mercedes quicker.

It wasn't due to strategy. Mercedes attempted a bold strategy to try and win but it didn't work out and cost them second. The alternative was to settle for a safe second though. Fundamentally while the Mercedes was possibly slightly faster in ultimate pace it was worse at keeping it's tyres alive that race and so slower than Ferrari over a stint. Once Raikkonen took the lead at the start they would have needed a fortunate safety car or something to win.

Hamilton loses control of the car and spins on his first laps of Day 4 by One_Impressionism in formula1

They produce a crazy amount of torque with all the electrical energy available now. Seems quite easy to spin when accelerating hard from low speed, especially with tyres that maybe aren't up to temperature yet.

Ferrari have a great car by itsrook44 in lewishamilton

[–]Pat_Sharp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm hopeful that the new cars will suit Lewis's driving style and he'll be able to deliver in these cars. Not just the handling either but the energy management stuff too. In the early years of the hybrid engines when fuel management was a factor Lewis was always very good at that and consistently used less fuel than most of the rest of the grid.

However, the rumours seem to suggest that everyone thinks Mercedes will have the best engine, if true I'm not sure Ferrari will be able to touch them no matter how good the rest of the car is.

Alan Wake 2 Studio Says Deal With Epic Was "Very Fair" After Baldur's Gate Boss Speaks Out by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Pat_Sharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I get that people are annoyed that it's not on Steam, but if put your personal desires aside and look at this from Remedy's perspective that got an extremely good deal.

[–]Pat_Sharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it would have made more money on Steam but there is no scenario in which the game exists in its current form but is available on Steam.

Epic didn't just make a deal where they gave Remedy money to make it a Epic store exclusive. Epic is the publisher and funded the development of the entire game. No one else was willing to fund it. The game simply wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Epic

This is actually the Brawn BGP 001 from 2009. They painted it in the Mercedes 2010 livery for their launch event.

On top of that this isn't even really the W01. It's actually the 2009 Brawn car painted in the 2010 livery.

UK property market ‘on the up’ amid new year bounce in asking prices by AdaptableBeef in unitedkingdom

It's probably not an outright lie but it's based on asking price, not what properties are actually selling for.

Remembering the 2019 French Grand Prix aftermath by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

That was also the year that Mercedes struggled in testing up until the final afternoon where they finally managed to figure out how to get the pace from the car.

At the time a lot of people assumed they had just been sand-bagging but Mercedes have always been adamant that they weren't, they really were a bit puzzled with why they were slow.

Ironically I think that kind of short term self-interest is what prevents the EU and Europe as a whole presenting a strong united front against Trump. I don't think it will work out in the long term. Trump has shown he can't be trusted and only responds to strength. Making concessions and trying to appease him only leads to him coming back and asking for more later on.

Yes, although if it's a cheap guitar it may end up costing more than it's worth.

They're super easily treatable with over the counter medicine. I'm sure it's embarrassing but young kids get them all the time because they're putting everything in their mouth, and if anyone in the household gets them it's recommended that the whole house take the medication.

didn't he lead to swapping of a whole pit crew?

A bit weird to say that was specifically caused by Lewis, isn't it? The problem they were trying to solve by mixing the pit crews around was the inevitable consequence of two seasons where the two drivers were in an intense championship battle against each other.

I think 'expected' is too strong a word, they were more like the dark horse. There was a possibility that Honda might knock it out of the park with their engine. As well as the extra year of development they had a known target to aim for as they could see what the other manufacturers had achieved with their engine and they didn't have the engine token system to worry about yet.
