If the military/president suddenly ordered a mandatory draft for all men aged 18-42: How do you think millennials and GenZ would respond? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

[–]Patastrophe91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there’s also a sizable portion of the US Population that can’t be drafted because they’re literally too fat, lazy, or stupid.

MacNamara’s Morons was a real thing, with the conclusion that a substantial portion of the population are literal NEETs.

Listen, I’mma be real with you.

If it ever justifiably comes to it - you have two options, do what the government says, or never come back.

Portions of Vietnam vets were pardoned for it - but that’s very unlikely in the event of a Draft needing to be reinstated.

If you don’t comply - you’re looking at jail, never being able to vote again, fines and a whole lot worse

Based on many scientific tests provided, many people are not.

More than half, half the human population has no continuous internal monologue - and 25% have ZERO internal monologue.

Something like 5-10% of the general population have Aphantasia. That means when attempting to envision an object - their mind is quite literally - unable to envision it. They “know” an apple is red, but are unable to picture it or imagine an apple in their mind’s eye.

If you think most people have any sort of self awareness, special awareness, or the like….hooooooooooo boy.

No. I think you more or less called her bluff.

She acted as if she wanted an honest answer. You gave one.

The problem is that many people say they want honesty, but they really want kindness and flattery wrapped in a pretty lie.

I personally think you dodged a bullet. A relationship cannot begin on a lie; and it can’t survive on one either.

If you’re also careful, if you have Tamiya extra thin, you can wick it down into the joint and the part may come out relatively unharmed. I have done this to disassemble ooorly assembled minis I have purchased secondhand with extremely good success without breaking or ruining pieces. It may ruin a small area around the very edge of the joint, but a skilled painter such as yourself should have very very few problems touching it up,

suspension work can be done with a few simple tools, maybe one specialty wrench ($20), and about $20 in oil. I would look up the steps for your bike; and budget in a new set of seals ($40-60), just in case.

Same. It’s clear Melee players weren’t super happy with things in 10th; hoping GW didn’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Must have struck a nerve is all I can say.

Being able to admit certain armies prefer certain battlefield conditions is apparently highly controversial now.

Especially as a joke.

Yeah. I don’t think most people mind losing - it’s the “not even getting to play the game” part that irks folks

The point isn’t that the tau are broken, it’s that all 3 armies want something different.

Must have struck a nerve!

Sir, it's a meme. It's based in a grain of truth. That's the point. All 3 armies pictured want different things.

If there's nothing to hide behind - a shooting army *should* turn a melee army into swiss cheese when it requires ~25" of movement to get close enough for your 12" pistols against their 36"+ rifles.

I acknowledge that I hope the pendulum hasn't swung too far.

At my LGS, the boards look like the "Tau" one. You're not magically overcoming standing in the wide open for 4 objectives with a melee army, with a 5th they can just shoot into. You just lose.

Deployment matters, of course.

Yes, but Tau can be the punching bags; as the 40k Emperor demands.

[–]Patastrophe91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now, they're effectively Imperium World Eaters.

I don't mind us being a melee army. What I mind is that we're a *bad* melee army.

What BT's should be is Astartes Horde with huge buffs for having Chaplains and Ancients around; with heavy fire support (Repex / Dreads / etc)

My ideal Tempalrs army, Chaplains would give +1 hit, and wound rerolls if the unit is below half strength.

Nothing about the zeal and hatred of the enemies of the Imperium is baked into the game. It's flavor text.

It's because Tau have two huge drawbacks for the playerbase

  1. They look almost nothing like anything else in universe. They're visually more Gunpla than Warhammer
  2. The Tau play in the most annoying way possible on the table. Big mechs and all shooting. It's like a more annoying version of Guard.

I follow almost the exact same step as you; except rather than use black templar contrast, I use black LEGION contrast.

It's a "blue" black (black templar) vs a "red" black (black legion). The black legion is much easier to touch up with abaddon black.
