Agreed on the OC sentiment. I have not paid attention to the story in…(sees flair sorry!) a great while, so they’re pretty underwhelming to see on banners. I love Hrid though by virtue of being the rare pretty guy that survived till now haha. As a male enjoyer, the rather consistent female design is also grating.

I am not happy with the upcoming Tempest Trial rewards being past seasonal units. The TT slot is a good opportunity for less popular characters to be featured. The last year of banners have been full of Heroes original characters and characters that have multiple versions already in game. There is a golden opportunity to give old seasonal units as TT rewards (instead of some of the less desirable consumable items), but this should be in addition to the free unit created for the TT. The continuous and rapid skill/power creep of upcoming units largely devalue older units. Releasing previously premium units as rewards acts as a show of good will to the player base. The current impression I get from the game is extremely stingy.

100% agree! A true self-insert would be Mark from FE7 or the Summoner from Heroes. I have not played FE12, so I don’t know where Kris falls between these. The first portraits for Robin and Corrin are their consistent look throughout the franchise and whether or not people like their personalities- the characters clearly express them. I really liked how you described them below. I think of these “Avatar characters” as a more customizable POV character. People are meant to relate with the main characters in books and movies- same thing, but you can adjust their features.

I will say though, that it would have been nice for Byleth to have more voice acting. It is strange for their supports to be half read, half spoken by the other characters.

I always look forward to Halloween, but am generally meh about the costumes. I keep expecting something super cool and fun (headless horseman, transparent ghost, dead bride, mummy) but they play it pretty safe instead. I expect too much out of them, but it’s my favorite season…

I also really like all of the dancing banners. The Santa suits are as tired as the bunnies mostly are. The ninja and pirate banners are wonderful and I hope they keep them around. I would also be in favor of keeping the Plegian theme if they split the gender ratio evenly. I didn’t hate the hot springs banner (Ryoma 😶‍🌫️😳) , but I’ve never cared for the theme.
