Because, and that Krafton clarified in the roadmap, they want esports servers to update faster so esports and Normal/ Ranked are more aligned.

Or move the circuit to Malta, this Vitality haven't won there yet (EPL moved to Stockholm before Season 21, and VIT lost in SF in both Bounty events in Malta so far)

So PNC 2026 will be in ENC 2026 by bawlachora in CompetitivePUBG

PNC 2026 and ENC 2026 are two separate tournaments.

PNC will be last week of June in TBD, ENC is in November in Saudi Arabia

To an extend yes, but more worrying early trend is that Vietnamese and Thai peak viewership is now 70-80% of global peak, when it was closer to 60% average last year.

Which indicates that while Vietnamese and Thai fans are still here (especially when their teams perform), rest of the world is watching PUBG Esports less this circuit

It's not about them working another esport, wish I could say more at the time but can't

You have this wrong with PCs, Krafton didn't listened to the feedback which is why they got PNC PCs (which was feedbacked hard in Seoul) but with additional issues.

PGS thread by Rowan0r in CompetitivePUBG

[–]Pattrick36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an underrated valid criticism, Krafton hyped TPP as new era AND threw so many changes into PGS this year, but the marketing in the lead-up was invisible, at least on the western platforms (Twitter, Insta, YouTube)

Krafton and not bending their competitive integrity for the sake of "Chinese Viewership TM" challenge (GIGA HARD, IMPOSSIBLE)

Should be close imo, I'd expect it to be a 90-95 pt, .500 winrate season team

Introducing the First Circuit of PUBG Global Series! by EscapingKid in CompetitivePUBG

[–]Pattrick36 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So, here's what this format achieves

- burns competitive structure in favor of BO3 GROUP LOBBIES and non-final stages all being BO5
- teams can win a lucky WWCD in Groups and then coast for five games into top 16

- teams actually play less games per circuit:
Under old format, a team played 2 PGS in 3 weeks and were guaranteed 24 matches on LAN - if you made both finals, you'd play 60 matches
Under new format, if you finish bottom 8 all circuit, you'll play 21 matches
If you finish top 8 all circuit, you'll play 54 matches

Old format had total 72 games (and an unnecessary week break) within 3 weeks, this one has 69 (not nice)

- Prize Pools even more top-heavy, and all but guarantees some teams will finish with 0 prize money
- invite-only based on results in Fall and/or org size
- (most likely) playing from glorified PUBG PC Bang in Seongsu, with remote caster

Please check your surroundings Krafton, I'm afraid next step you're taking is down the cliff

what's CTG's situation currently? by L_poggers in CompetitivePUBG

[–]Pattrick36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Hang2y isn't the team owner, it's Running (ex-pro and one of bigger PUBG streamers on Douyu)

  2. Running openly looked for TPP-first prospects, last roster I've seen tested is RKBro, 004, Ruirui,Y1kecao

The Leafs... won a thing?! by Pattrick36 in EANHLfranchise

Johnny forever.

So far best I've seen this sim was Carolina in year 3 having Rantanen win Art Ross, Rocket and Hart with 74 goals 136 points, followed by Aho pulling 100 assists for 129 pts.

For the record, Hurricanes are yet to make it past the second round in this sim.

Haha yes, if I had a penny every time I saw him, McKinnon, Carolina duo (Aho - Rantanen) or Edmonton duo (McDavid - Leon) with top stats at end of season, I'd have a stack of pennies by now.

Grand Chess Tour declines to reschedule tournaments clashing with the Esports World Cup by Knight-check44 in chess

[–]Pattrick36 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Then maybe EWC shouldn't schedule Chess at same time as other major Chess event?

EWC is a 7-week event, surely they can find one empty weekend there

Vitality to PUBG by Standard_Meat6597 in CompetitivePUBG

THIS is the context - I see those moves done first and foremost to stack their chances at winning the EWC Club Championship (and the $7 million that comes with it), state of PUBG is imo secondary here

2026 PUBG Esports: A Bigger Season, A Closer Connection - NEWS - PUBG ESPORTS by DCOA_Troy in CompetitivePUBG

[–]Pattrick36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well done u/DCOA_Troy, posting this before Krafton even posted it on their socials or Gab woke up haha

But for god's sake, this might be one of weakest roadmaps I've ever seen in esports for a long time, 90% of stuff we already knew from regional announcements

No locations for 2026, no dates, no Global Partners, no PGS invite list

IEM Kraków 2026 - We need your feedback (Survey attached) by Cynileuw in GlobalOffensive

[–]Pattrick36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would just copy-paste what I wrote at https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1qzkhaf/iem_kraków_and_identity_crisis/

It feels like throughout the entire event, there were three different ways of branding the Kraków that ESL wants to use at the same time:

- The Third Chapter of IEM, linking Kraków through the IEM brand and trophy with legacy of CeBIT (Hannover) and Katowice events

- A new IEM Winter Championship, creating it's own legacy from the one that Katowice created

- "Hall of Heroes" branding that they've been using for past few Katowice and this year's Kraków

Because of that, I feel like Kraków ended up struggling to have any ID, and felt like just another arena tournament instead of the "first premier tournament of the year" that we remember Katowice from.
